  1. Yeah, I've seen that post. While I agree that it is great to see such a card with higher limits I think it's is ridiculous to set artificial limits on it. The EvBot is an enthusiast tool for extreme overclockers, there's no point using it unless you're a serious bencher. So why do they limit the voltage to 1.5V 'only'? I'm pretty sure that's not the limit of the voltage regulator on the board (though I could be mistaken).

As EVGA seems to have done a good job when designing the power circuitry of the classified the card is not running at its limits, even at 1.5V. It's a pity to see it locked down.

Furthermore the default power values are a joke. What's the point of allowing voltage adjusting when in the end you can't get the card to perform better unless you use a modified vbios...

  2. I just played Borderlands 2 for about 15 mins. The lowest I saw it go was to 1045MHz then once and a while it will go up a bit then drop back down. I noticed it go all the way up to my set overclock speed once things got a bit crazy in game then drop back down once GPU usage dropped below 50%. I am going to post my hardware monitor file log so you can have a look if you need any more info please let me know.

    Thank You Once Again :)

Ya that's happened with my titans using svl7 bios and my classified. Borderlands uses such low gpu usage that it down clocks a lot especially in sli. Pretty much all other games like far cry 3, crysis it doesn't happen. Borderlands is a very light game on the gpu, I always thought it was normal even when using the disabled boost bios's.

I don't know, you're the second one telling me that everything above 1.5V will still max out at 1.5V... As the evbot sets the voltage directly per hardware bus the vbios shouldn't have any influence. Either it's a limitation in the evbot firmware, or it's a bug. Or a bug elsewhere...

It has been said that 1.80V or even more should be possible with the evbot, though I haven't seen any official specs confirming this. I'm not sure... maybe it would be best to contact EVGA, maybe the can give some insight here. I don't have a Classified 780 to test it myself so I can't really say anything for sure.

Jacob confirmed in the evga forums the 780 classified is limited to 1.5v even with the evbot. So 1.35v with software and 1.5v with the evbot. He said they will update the evbot firmware so it doesn't show higher than 1.5v. I still think that is pretty great. Nobody was even sure if any card this series from NVIDIA would allow higher than 1.2v after they removed evbot support last year and started really limiting things voltage wise. I think 1.5v is pretty high and a step in the right direction.

  3. I am looking at build a new gaming desktop computer. I will be using 3 x 23in 1080p monitor setup. Just want some thoughts on the gtx 770 sil. I know there rebranded 680's beefed up a little more. I will be using evga card as I like there warranty.

It looks like the 4gb 770 classified is like about $550. I know an extra $150 is a lot but you could get the 780 classified for that much more. There is a huge difference between these 2 cards. GK110 is so much more powerful. Some of the valley scores I have gotten with mine beat some bad oc'ing 680's in sli. Also the memory seems to clock just as high and you have a 384 bit bus. Right now mine is stable at 7450mhz. Even if you could afford only one 780 classified right now and get the second one later on. Or if you want to save even more go for reference evga 780's and the price difference only becomes $100.

  4. Hello.

What would you say is the best solution for SLI cards, reference or non-reference cards?

The 2 GTX 780 Windforce 3X I have in an order at a netshop have in benchmarks around 10 degrees celcius lower temps than the referance cards with only 1 card mounted, but how will this compare with referance cards in SLI?

Reference cards blow the heat out back, and the non-reference cards push the air out in the cabinet again.

I have 200mm intake fans both at the front and at the side, so was thinking this should be enough for pushing away the hot air made by the gpu cards.

Have still time to change the order before the cards will be sent 20.06, just don't want to order something for that price, if the cooling won't be enough.

Would really appreciate your thoughts about this.

Get 2 classified's, 2 lightnings, or 2 evga 780 sc acx. I am running 2 classified's in sli and using air coolers until the waterblocks release. My rig is setup for water so the airflow isn't the greatest and I am not having a problem. My temps are at about 75c while gaming but only because I am using 1.35v. You will be fine with non-reference cards and your setup.

  5. Does anyone regard buying a 780 and wishes they got a titan? lol

I bought 2 titan's and wished I had gotten 780's. I sold my titans and now have 780 classified's and they are faster than my titans. Maybe some people need the extra vram but I am only single monitor.

  6. Any of you Titan SLI owners ever noticed microstuttering compared to single GPU?

    Thanks.

I have to say the titans were amazingly smooth in sli. I never noticed any stuttering. I just moved to classified sli and I have been testing one card first and it feels exactly the same as the titans did in sli. Maybe I am not sensitive to it but going to one card really made me realize how smooth it was with the titans.

  7. svl7: Awesome bios! Just made a account here to say thank you!

Before with orginal evga titan my cards refused to clock higher then 1090mhz, after i flashed your modded bios both my cards run fine on 1202mhz.

ya I totally agree the bios is amazing. My titans were throttling hard and as soon as I installed this bios all throttling stopped and my cards ran in sli 1202mhz far cry 3 stable. This bios completely changed my cards. Plus I love to just set my clocks and not worry that they are going to jump all over the place.

  8. Links are very welcome. I just don't like unapproved re-hosting. If a post doesn't show up then it was most likely not approved, which can be for several reasons.

    @all EVGA 780 ACX users:

I added a new version to the first post, it comes with a new fan profile which should lower the noise when idling. Please let me know if all is working fine, then I'll add it to the main site for public access.

Ya I completely understand. None of your files are in the owner's club. Once I can test the bios I will add a link.

  9. EVGA 780 classified added to the first post. Let me know if everything is alright, can't test it myself. Please post a Nvidia Inspector screenshot showing the OC part.

Yes, but the default fan behavior will be ACX style, meaning that the fan curve might not be the best for the reference cooler.

Man that was fast. Thank you so much. I wish I could test it for you but I don't have access yet. I tried to make 2 posts yesterday but only one showed up. I really want to test it so I can add a link to the bios in my owner's club. Would that be ok if I did that? There were a lot of cards released recently so the club is starting to get big and they all need a bios. I just can't comment on it until I test it. Thank you so much for all your hard work. You are amazing. My titans would have been junk without your bios.

  10. Hi svl7, I have been using your vbios on my classified and it has been working great. Got my highest scores in Valley with it and it's the only one that doesn't throttle for me. Is there a reason why I shouldn't be using it? Do you think a version based off the classified originals could act differently. Because as of right now I think your bios, the only one I have access to right now is working amazing. Any thoughts? If you could possibly mod one for the classified I will post links to this forum in the classified owner's club I started at *** to try to get all the owner's over here and help you out.
