Hey all. A while back I tried an eGPU setup and it just didnt want to work with my laptop. So after waiting a bit I decided to give it another go, and its been a success, mostly... The X230T still has resource issues if there is more than 8GB of RAM in the back, so I'm going to get some dual channel 4GB sticks. Anyway, I got my GTX 760 with a fancy EXP GDC v5.8 to run and the scores on 3dMark look fantastic, there is just one minor issue that is more of an inconveniance really. On start up, if my external monitor is plugged in to my DVI output on the graphics card, my start up stalls at the boot screen before windows can load. However, if I wait until it boots up and plug in the monitor when windows is loading, it works like a charm. At this point I am just thrilled that I got it to work after having a failed attempt before, but I'd like to be able to run the thing without having to worry about plugging in my monitor everytime I want to use the card. Will I? Sure. Do I want to? Not really. Any tips would be much appreciated. Thanks.
