so you went from v3b to v2 and that solved the issue?!

didn t @Prema say that the v3b bios is the one where you can choose the drivers as u want and have no modding issues n stuff?! im puzzled

so eversince i cant install any newer drivers i should also go to v2?! i dont get it, maybe prema can give us some intell

side questin, does the p170em support dp1.2?! i read some pages and some say 1.1 some say 1.2 i think that comes from the 580m and 680m compatibility

    @InfectedSonic i am on v3b

Your confusing system bios with vbios (video card)

the v3b bios is for the motherboard

the v2 bios is for the video card

from what i understand (correct me if im wrong) the v3b bios allow the system to utilize the 900 series gpu also it lets you use them without having to modify the video cards inf which means not having to disable driver signature enforcement. the v2 bios for the video card changes a few things (you can find what exactly they are from prema website) but it also fixes an issue with newer drivers.(i cant recall exactly what the issue was though)

    Update:
I spent some time searching, reading the forum and more generally getting documented on the subjet and I finally concluded that it was normal to have the "PCI subsystem missmatch" warning in my case. So I flashed the vbios and BAM: everything works :)
A big thank you to Prema for his awesome work.
I'm now using the latest version of the NVidia drivers (375.70), it works perfectly and I'm about to loose good a part of my life playing Civilization VI.

i applaud you for actually reading and finding out the answer on the mismatch, not many people would do that even though it would risk the card lol

but yeah i kinda figured thats what the problem was as i read alot of that issue back when that update came out that didnt work. i personally didnt experience it as im a procrastinator on the drivers. that reboot to enable sli just takes too long.

im on v3b bios, i download the newest driver, run the installtion procedure, restart, driver is gone....

when i open nvidia experiance it wants to redownload the driver and reinstall the driver

if i do that, story repeats itself again...

so trying to install the newest driver leaves me with no nvidia driver :D

so just for fun i treid everything:

the above, most common way, downloading the new 1 installing it =no work

deinstalling software reinstalling = no work

deinstalling all software even in the system manager =no work

deinstalling everything going offline so windows cant install shit and cleaning with DDU = no work

device manager shows me that therre is a problem with my driver....

just spent 2 hours trying 2 install a new driver :D just epic, win10 + nvidia....

now rolling back 2 the old stable system

what vbios are you on? as in what bios you have on your 980m.

  4. what bios and vbios are you using?

im on prema bios v3 and vbios v2 and i can use the newer drivers just fine. haven't installed the latest but im currently on 373.06

if your on prema vbios im assuming your using v1 as v2 has a fix for the driver issues

  5. the bios for your system should have nothing to do with it.(assuming you installed prema sbios) although i do remember that the vbios needed to be the v2 Vbios in order to install a driver over a certain version.( i think it was any driver version 360+)

if your still having problems i would first start of with modifying the inf to a 350 and down version driver see if that works. if so that confirms that you didnt update the vbios.

installing the original sbios will make your situation worse as the gpu wont be supported at all.(if i remember correctly)

  6. Hi guys,

I bought a clevo P151SM 2 years ago. My battery is not fully charging since 3 months ago. It became to charge until 60-50% now only reaching 20%.

Anyone knows if is anything in BIOS or just battery failling? ... It´s kinda expensive to buy a new one :S

    Regards

sry to tell yah but batteries just die after awhile. although that much wear after just two yrs is odd. it could have gone longer but it really depends on how its used and cared for. ive had em crap out after just 1 yr so maybe just a bunk battery. my current battery is at 16% wear and i rarely ever use it after about i think 2 yrs also (cant remember when i bought this thing).

in your position i would just buy a new one. you could try completely discharging the battery then recharging it while the notebook is off (personally id just chuck it)

  7. Any recommendation for using the 7620AC? Do you have a driver you prefer?

im currently using driver 18.10.0.16 beta but, there is a version 18.11.0.8 whql now. ill update to the newer driver at some point eventually lol

  8. I am using killer 1202 in my systems, no problems in any of them...

really? the 1202 i have is junk it keeps lagging when ever it wants.(cant seem to find any kind of pattern that causes it) after awhile i gave up and ordered the 6300.(this was when i first bought my notebook)

maybe i just got a lemon i dunno as i havent tested it in another notebook yet.

either way these net cards are pretty cheap anyways. i didnt expect the 6300 n to cost 25$ or the 7620 to be 20$ either lol

  9. if I cannot use the card what card should I use? It tough finding a net card.

ive been using an intel 7620ac and its been fantastic so far. i had an intel 6300 ultimate n that worked great but i would have ping spikes for like a second while playing some games. the ping spike was extremely brief that i most of the time wouldnt notice. only times i had issue with it was when playing bf4 as some servers enforce low ping clients only i would sometimes get kicked out. has not happened once with the 7620ac.

  10. 1. Use prema's vBios and Bios mode.

2.Install inf modded driver at LaptopVideo2Go: Drivers

    3.Finish.

    << is this right?

Currently im using only Bios mod with stock driver&rom.

i used 970M without any problem till 2days ago.,

Than yesterday, code 43 graphic card error is appeared at device manger.

What is the problem now? what should i do?

did you disable driver signature enforcement?

the steps should be like this

    1. Use prema's vBios(optional but strongly recommended) and prema Bios.

2.uninstall current drivers and reboot with driver signature enforcement disabled

3.Install inf modded driver (download one or make one)

3.Finish.(remember to disable driver signature enforcement everytime on boot.)

  11. all you have to do is modify the inf to install the driver. very easy to do but if you cant do it and want the latest driver inf i can make one for you if you wish. just keep in mind that you do have to disable driver signature enforcement in order for it to install. personally i would just put my os in test mode to avoid having to disable the signature enforcement every time windows booted

  12. Would it be smart to wait about a year or so to get a 970m due to the price being so high atm? Like i said up about 3 posts i have a p170em.

not really laptop gpus dont go down in price and if they do its not by much. i think the only reason why you can get a 980m cheaper then a 680m other then manufacturing price is because they dont make em anymore where as the 9 series is still under production. maybe im wrong on that part but as far as prices go they dont change much unfortunately.

  13. Hi InfectedSonic,

Can you please explain what this change dose? Also is this done in DOS, or using CMD.exe??

    thanks in advance.

    Cheers NightFX

you do these commands in windows on cmd prompt running under adminstrator

as for the commands here is the jist.

the first cmd disables driver signature enforcement

the second cmd puts the computer in test signing mode so you don't have to remember to boot with driver signature enforcement disabled every time you turn it on.

there are some security concerns doing this but give it a good ol google if your worried about it.

  14. toopy one think i noticed with my computer is when im gaming and the power cable unplugs the card clocks itself down like it should for battery use but wont return to normal clocks when plugged back in. only thing that seems to fix it is a reboot. works fine if the power falls out when not under load. just wondering if your does too or if its just me somehow.

  15. I ordered a 980m from rj and it arrived with heatsink and thermal pads already applied as well as the thermal paste on it. i got it with the screwset just incase something was different but it was the same. i have a p370em and ordered for a 370sm-a or whatever model they had that was equivalent. first thing i noticed was that the heatsink was one solid piece vs thold heatsinks where the ram + goodies is a separate piece from the gpu core heatsink. it was the same shape and fit into the case fine. the cover didnt close though so i had to cut it up a lil bit and it closed fine. the gpu works fine but the notebook cant identify it. says empty in bios. windows doesnt know what it is either so you have to modify the nvidia driver inf to install it. Very easy to do and ill be willing to share the inf with you if you cant figure it out.

ive had this gpu in my 370em for about 3 weeks now and its been fantastic. im getting much better performance from one 980m then i was from my crossfire 7970m. heat has gone up as high as 79c but thats as high as ive seen it go.(might be cooler on better paste) i do plan on ordering another 980m for some sli action when i get the money together.

if your not confortable on modding drivers and running your computer with driver signature enforcement off i would hold out on your order until prema can update the bios on the mobo to support it.

my tip for those wanting to do it anyway: "bcdedit -set loadoptions DISABLE_INTEGRITY_CHECKS" and then “bcdedit -set TESTSIGNING ON”

  16. Hi guys, I'm a recent 9380-S buyer as well, and spent some time shopping for a bag. I have yet to buy one, but I can at least offer the information that I've found.

First, if you're looking for a laptop sleeve, I bought this one: Tucano 18" Neoprene . It fits the 9380 pretty snugly, with a little give to it. It's a nice fit that offers some protection if you're looking for extra (I've encountered laptop bags with less-than-ideal surfaces in the laptop compartment before). I've found it's best to look for equipment made to accommodate 18" laptops. Most of the "larger" 17" bags seem to cap out at a size that holds an Asus G75, which, while big, is a bit more compact than the 9380-S.

I've heard that the Targus XL bag will fit the 9380, but I have my doubts (I've seen conflicting reports on the dimensions of the laptop compartment), and it doesn't seem like the best bag to begin with. My personal choice for the bag is the Everki Titan . The cheapest price I've seen is about 166 through newegg (link posted). This bag will definitely accommodate the 9380. (For reference, the dimensions I've found for the 9380-s are: 16.50" x 11.54" x 1.96"). I've heard that the Everki Beacon is another good choice (and it's a bit cheaper than the Titan). However, the Beacon advertises a width of 1.38", which is smaller than the 9380-s. It could be made up for by the additional room of the length and height, but I have my doubts. Slappa offers some bags that advertise holding an 18" laptop, but I can't seem to track down reliable info on the dimensions of the laptop compartment. I'll post as I find more information. At the moment, the plan is to purchase an Everki Titan in a few weeks. If so, I'll report back here how it works.

TLDR; The Everki Beacon may work, and is a solid "runner-up", same goes for the Targus XL, if budget is a huge concern. The best option I've found is the Everki Titan, which will definitely fit and protect, but is pricey. The way I see it, with what we've spent on our laptops, it's worth spending an extra 50-100 to protect our investment. No sense cutting corners.

i have a NP9370(P370em) and i have no issues using this bag

Amazon.com: Targus CityGear Backpack Case for 17 Inch Notebooks TCG216 (Black with Grey): Electronics

it fits with quite a bit of room to spare. My brothers NP8180(P180hm) fits in it as well. I bought this bag years ago when i got my gateway p7805 and the only damgae the bag has sustained was the little rubber dealies on the zippers came off (they are those black things coming off the zippers that say targus in yellow in the pic)

  17. Hi everyone this my first post so be gemtle please :P

I ordered an received a np9370 a two days ago and have been toying around with my installation ad I await my ssd in the mail

Ive gotten everything to work fine then noticed that it had a working optical port and remembered that it contained the xfi mb2

So I set out ti see if I could get dts connect or dolby digital live to work over it.

Sadly ive been unable to find anything to get it working. Still have a few things to try out but was hoping anyone already figured this monster out.

So far ive only gotten eax effects, equalizer, voice effects, crystalizer and cmss 3d to work. Not sure what the stock driver supports. (ill have to confirm any other options later im at work :P)

Anyway hoping someone out there can help out with my optical woes.
