  1. Your confusing system bios with vbios (video card) the v3b bios is for the motherboard the v2 bios is for the video card from what i understand (correct me if im wrong) the v3b bios allow the system to utilize the 900 series gpu also it lets you use them without having to modify the video cards inf which means not having to disable driver signature enforcement. the v2 bios for the video card changes a few things (you can find what exactly they are from prema website) but it also fixes an issue with newer drivers.(i cant recall exactly what the issue was though)
  2. i applaud you for actually reading and finding out the answer on the mismatch, not many people would do that even though it would risk the card lol but yeah i kinda figured thats what the problem was as i read alot of that issue back when that update came out that didnt work. i personally didnt experience it as im a procrastinator on the drivers. that reboot to enable sli just takes too long.
  3. what vbios are you on? as in what bios you have on your 980m.
  4. what bios and vbios are you using? im on prema bios v3 and vbios v2 and i can use the newer drivers just fine. haven't installed the latest but im currently on 373.06 if your on prema vbios im assuming your using v1 as v2 has a fix for the driver issues
  5. are you using a modified driver? if so you need to disable driver signature enforcement.
  6. hopefully ill have one as well in a month or two. so much money though lol. cant wait to see what you go in store for it though. just thinking about it makes me
  7. the bios for your system should have nothing to do with it.(assuming you installed prema sbios) although i do remember that the vbios needed to be the v2 Vbios in order to install a driver over a certain version.( i think it was any driver version 360+) if your still having problems i would first start of with modifying the inf to a 350 and down version driver see if that works. if so that confirms that you didnt update the vbios. installing the original sbios will make your situation worse as the gpu wont be supported at all.(if i remember correctly)
  8. sry to tell yah but batteries just die after awhile. although that much wear after just two yrs is odd. it could have gone longer but it really depends on how its used and cared for. ive had em crap out after just 1 yr so maybe just a bunk battery. my current battery is at 16% wear and i rarely ever use it after about i think 2 yrs also (cant remember when i bought this thing). in your position i would just buy a new one. you could try completely discharging the battery then recharging it while the notebook is off (personally id just chuck it)
  9. im currently using driver 18.10.0.16 beta but, there is a version 18.11.0.8 whql now. ill update to the newer driver at some point eventually lol
  10. really? the 1202 i have is junk it keeps lagging when ever it wants.(cant seem to find any kind of pattern that causes it) after awhile i gave up and ordered the 6300.(this was when i first bought my notebook) maybe i just got a lemon i dunno as i havent tested it in another notebook yet. either way these net cards are pretty cheap anyways. i didnt expect the 6300 n to cost 25$ or the 7620 to be 20$ either lol
  11. ive been using an intel 7620ac and its been fantastic so far. i had an intel 6300 ultimate n that worked great but i would have ping spikes for like a second while playing some games. the ping spike was extremely brief that i most of the time wouldnt notice. only times i had issue with it was when playing bf4 as some servers enforce low ping clients only i would sometimes get kicked out. has not happened once with the 7620ac.
  12. did you disable driver signature enforcement? the steps should be like this 1. Use prema's vBios(optional but strongly recommended) and prema Bios. 2.uninstall current drivers and reboot with driver signature enforcement disabled 3.Install inf modded driver (download one or make one) 3.Finish.(remember to disable driver signature enforcement everytime on boot.)
  13. all you have to do is modify the inf to install the driver. very easy to do but if you cant do it and want the latest driver inf i can make one for you if you wish. just keep in mind that you do have to disable driver signature enforcement in order for it to install. personally i would just put my os in test mode to avoid having to disable the signature enforcement every time windows booted
  14. https://communities.intel.com/servlet/JiveServlet/showImage/2-232968-236184/MiniPciE_PinDiagram.jpg just place a piece of tape over the pads on wifi card so they dont contact the pins on the slot
