  1. Removing the CMOS battery did not work. I also tried with just 1 stick and was getting the same result...I'm going to RMA the memory and give it another try with another set...slight chance it is defective... What are the odds this RAM doesn't work with my laptop is the main question. What I'm upgrading to: G.SKILL Model F3-10666CL9D-16GBSQ Laptop Memory - Newegg.com What is currently inside: NT2GC64B8HC0NS-BE Nanya 2GB SODIMM Memory PC-8500 What Crucial suggests: 8GB Kit (4GBx2), 204-pin SODIMM, DDR3 PC3-10600 upgrades for Alienware M17xR2 Laptop/Notebook, CT2336301 from Crucial.com Thanks! -Xur
  2. Gave that a shot...no dice. I'm trying to run memtest, also causing a reboot....this ram should work, correct? Could it be a defective batch?
  3. Waiting for a MOD is taking forever....I'm have the R2 and it did not recognize either 8GB stick in either slot, tried all combinations.
  4. Hi all, new member looking for some help....just upgraded from 4GB to 16GB of RAM after having my system auto close programs due to lack of memory while gaming. After buying - G.SKILL Model F3-10666CL9D-16GBSQ Laptop Memory - Newegg.com and installing it is not being recognized. In BIOS says 0 memory installed and will not boot... It matches the specifications of RAM that should work, the only thing was the size, 8GB...but I saw postings in quite a few forums that this was not an issue.... HELP! -Xur
