I presume the quietness is because nobody really knows. Therefore, I've looked in the W230ss service manual and can confirm that it doesn't specify the correct pinout for DEVSLP in either the msata or sata port.

Many of the newer SSD support DEVSLP to bring the power consumption during idle all the way down. The 840 EVO doesn't but already has a low idle power consumption but on the other hand, the Crucial MX100 has quite a high idle power consumption but supports DEVSLP. So anyone got any clues if any recent Clevo laptops has DEVSLP support?
