HP PAVILLION dv-6 3151 ee ATI graphics card stopped working

i have hp pavilion dv-6 3151ee laptop but graphics card sometimes stop working suddenly . and my game always got hanged after graphics card error .can u plz help me.

it is the MB all the DV6000 and DV9000 and I guess all the DV series has the problem it is from the poor design of the cool on the board probably will need a new MB

My brothers HDX18t is similar with a one heat sink design and one fan as well all for both cpu and gpu. Poor vent design adds to the problem in most of the designs I was very disappointed in the HP model I used. You still can try repasting and keeping temps down but it may be a hardware issue. Still yet if you haven't you could try a clean install of the latest graphics drivers. Ram could be loose maybe try reseating the ram modules carefully. You can rule out temps on gpu or cpu just by monitoring them with HWiNFO.

Problem is that the GPU desolders itself from motherboard. In some cases it can be resoldered by simply heating it up. In the newer models the GPU was also glued to the motherboard, but that didnt always fix the problem.
