danbeherenow
Hi All, I recently bought a new laptop (Zoostorm GT7) and was looking to potentially overclock the GPU but I'm unsure what vbios I would need to use? From the below image I believe the sub-brand of the GPU is Clevo but that's about all I understand (I've never overclocked a laptop GPU before, but have overclocked CPU's for PC's etc.). Additionally I have bought the following 6 fan laptop cooler to use in conjunction with the overclock just so I don't cause damaged to the components. Please someone clarify which vbios would be compatible, and/or provide information so that I could check myself; any additional information / tips to also consider before attempting the overclock would also be greatly appreciated. Sorry if the image is blurred, I'm using Windows 10 and unfortunately it's DPI settings (150%) are currently blurry (I can't read the text when I use 100% DPI). Thanks for any help! danbeherenow
Hi all,I haven't overclocked my system yet.I notice the CPU's for the laptop get really hot (up to 80 degrees); would it be recommended to under-clock my CPU using the Intel Extreme Tuning Util. (my laptop is very thin), I do use a cooler but by the looks of it it has no cooling effect on the CPU. Unless the bios update provided by Prema helps with the problem? Thanks for any help! No need to under-clock it.
danbeherenow
Hi Prema,Thank you for your advice. I will install the EC version as suggested. I will also play around with under-volting the CPU, setting the clocks back to normal (and perform a basic stress test with Intel's software).Could I ask if there is any decent software to control CPU fans / GPU fans? I'm thinking of using 'speedfan', I just was unsure if there was better software out there. Thanks for your advice.
