MSI GT680R/683R

Well this thread can be also good for other OEM notebook owners too.

Recently I had some issues with my gtx460m. So I decided to try VBIOS from different manufacturer ASUS on MSI GTX460m. Hopeless, flash wasn't possible so I experienced BLACK SCREEN.

And then I did blind VBIOS.

Just before I explain instructions I will just point on time before flash what I did and after how I made this issue resolved.

Time before flash:

With GPU-Z I created vBIOS backup. Then I made DOS USB flash with RUFUS. I copied NVFLASH for dos(2 files) on USB FLASH.

In autoexec.bat at the end I wrote this line: "nvflash -4 -5 -6 <your bios=""><name of="" your="" vbios="" backup="">yourbios.rom" (without quotes)

Time after flash:

GPU bricked. Black screen. System is waking up, but I saw only black screen. And then I realized that I didn't made USB as FIRST BOOT DEVICE in bios.

To jump all combinations what I tried to resolve problem i did next steps.

I removed HARD DRIVES from my laptop, I removed DVD DEVICE from laptop.

On next start, woo hoo! Notebook started with USB drive which I previously prepared.

Process is done automatically and on next restart I saw familiar BIOS on my screen.

I made this thread as a help for dummies like me, whos trying to recover wrong flash before they panic and before RMA as last resort.
