Please help with AMD HD8970m

Hi, could anyone please help me? I have a GX 70 3be laptop from msi and i recently upgraded the vbios for my 8970 from the msi global website, only the new vbios has downclocked the memory from 1250 to 900 mhz. (this bothers me because for example dota 2 should be playable with at least 60 fps but i usually get ~ 55 with often framedrops to 40~45)

I was wondering if i could flash the vbios of a R9 M290X as i heard they are the same board, the only things are that 1) I am not sure this is possible even though i saw on a few threads that it is I want to be sure and 2) the R9 M290X has 4 gb of memory and the vbios is made for this but i have the 2gb version of the 8970 wouldn't that be a problem?

I don't necessarily want to flash an r9 m290x vbios i would be happy if i could just flash back to the 004 version (can i downgrade to an older version?) but i have searched a LOT on the internet and i haven't found a stock or modded vbios for the 8970m all i can find is the r9 m290x when i search for a vbios for my 8970(they don't have a 8970m bios in their pretty big collection but they do show me an r9 one when i search for my vbios).

Also i would like to state that i would have overclocked the gpu with a software such as msi afterburner or overdrive but i have tried both and i can't modify anything in them, msi afterburner doesn't show anything if I switch to unofficial overclocking and overdrive only shows the 8650g card in the a10 5750m apu. In catalyst control center 8970m is lisited but as a linked adapter(8650g being the primary adapter).

All help is greatly appreciated.
