do you try this process ? :

installing their card in a M17x R2 R3

1. Flash bios with (R2) A10 or (R3) A12 , unlocked Bios

2. a) Disable onboard HD audio /R3 Disable onboard grahpic card

Disable IDT GPU in advanced settings

//R3 change display model from SG to PDG

sorry for the delay, but i tried my Dell 780M on my M17XR2, and i ve same issue : no display on Windows normal mode. Alien logo appears, and when Windows is lauching, i've a black screen. I try to resolve that next week, i must reinstall my 780M in my R5 for a business trip.

with a 670M, the gpu power is less than 100W. With default PSU, you can now upgrade CPU with an i7 940XM. I done this update for a friend and now his M15X is quite powerful for playing recent games.

Can you say me if the 780M works on M17Xr2 ? I can try with a Dell 780M from my M17X R5, but i am afraid to remove the card from my new alienware

The DP port works perfectly on my M17Xr2 with CF 7970M from Dell. I try it with DP=>HDMI converter cable.

try to reset bios (default values) and disable integrated gpu. Compare bios version with other laptop.

My orion backpack has lasted me 3 years and it is in perfect state for my M18X. For my M17X, i use a <!-- google_ad_section_end -->BacPac Mission XL ( DICOTA). I use my bag every day for a year during my business trips and no issue on this backpack.

Not sure, but in my invoice, i ve F7W0D code for my 780M in my M17X r5.
