As far as I remember, you can only open a us PayPal account if you have a us issued credit card.
Nope you can open the account and if you get a virtual US bank you can get it verified. thats what i did and thats how i got my awesome 17x r4

Nop because if i use he nVidia trick it works just fine on 1080p, maybe theres some sort of driver or something like that for the monitor to enable the 1080p res.

Actually you can use PayPal to pay for it, that’s what I did, so this is how I did it, I have 2 PayPal accounts one with my US bank and one with international card, so I sent an invoice to my international one from the US one, I paid the invoice with the card so the money is now PayPal Balance, then make your Dell Purchase using ONLY PayPal Balance, I shipped under my name to my boss address in California and I arranged DHL to pick it up and bring it to me..
I’m currently stuck in Mexico and the Alienware here just plan suck, I paid about 120USD for taxes and 199 for shipping.
But here a lower end m14x was around 3000USD, my 17x R4 was about 1800-1900 but again its 17x R4 newest everything, 12Gb on Ram , it’s just awesome, send me a message if you need help with getting your order, trust me before I figure out the PayPal way my order got cancelled about 5 times.
So I know how frustrating dealing with Dell is… especially since their English is barely understandable sometimes I mean I’m Canadian so English is part of me but the accent sometimes really gets me.

I had the same issue on my R4, sometimes the audio just went “puff” what I did before was turn off the laptop, remove the battery count to 10, put the battery back and everything worked again, that happened with Windows 7 ultimate, now that I’m on Windows 8 it doesn’t seem to happen, I guess it was a driver issue

HI! Hey guys me has a question… I got the M17x R4 with the 1600x900 display and its awesome, but…
Every time I plug my 360 over the HDMI IN, the screen goes to Full HD 1920*1080 so I was wondering if anyone knows how to “unlock” the FHD resolution inside Windows…
Not with the NVidia Software Trick to allow custom resolutions but to enable the resolution by “Default” so that Windows can pick up the 1080p as the recommended resolution.

I know there's no point in using secure boot but, is there any other drawback with your bios. Fast boot???
And maybe I'm wrong as I can't see attachments yet but what we gain is only for overclocking?

Not mine, but it's not so new (Mid-September).
And I was wrong about the error in bios, it does!!! I think I didn't realize before.
I'll try to flash when I can download 8)
Edit: Alienware bricked. No lights, no beeps, no nothing . Waiting for a motherboard replacement.
Is it possible to flash in msdos? I didn't find anything, just for Windows.
did you tired this?
