Hello,

I have an M14x R1 which I have been have a small issue with. I have installed windows 8 on it, has been running good for months now after figuring out driver issues and such. However, the issue I am having is..when I have my laptop plugged in via hdmi to any tv and start it, It will blue screen. After it restarts though it is fine..I'm also not sure how to look at the dump files it produces.

My fault for not reading. angelsguigui if you go to page 7 it will say you can use gf116. As for sata behavior..maybe somebody else can elaborate more since I'm still learning.

If only my geforce gt 555m could run this on very high settings..but at least I can do medium! Still looks really good though.

I thought the M14x could support 16gb of memory. I have 8gb of hyper-x kingston running at 1867MHz

I'm currently using windows 8 on mine, I really like it. At first I hated it but I do love how fast boot up and shutdown is. I also got the program to bring back the start button Things are running smoothly but maybe I'm just lucky o.O

I'd say the Alienware m14x is a good laptop. I have the R1 and never had overheating issues as long as you turn off the intel turbo boost in the bios. I noticed with turbo boost on my cpu temps went up to 99c! other then that it's great. Plus the newer version is updated with newer parts. I can still run the newest games..maybe not on the highest graphics but I can still run it
