i have an alienware 17 , 880m and its windows 10 i tried the nvflash thingy and everytime there is a different error when i tried to boot as dos it says program cannot run in dos mode which i dont know why is there a way to create a dos for windows 10 ? and the 2nd thing is that is says it didnt find nvidia adapter or something although im using the latest nvflash and everytime there is something new it just doesnt end so can someone help me plz ?

How do you find the new bios ? had any problems running on battery crashes or anything ... I want to try it but I am afraid because someone reported driver crashes on battery because the card can't downclock

well lets just face it , on a laptop you cant play without the charger right ? u'll have fps drops and the nvidia crashes because of somewhat reason on the battery only and lets face it u wont use any of them on battery.. but when the charger is plugged in there is absolutely no issues at all so basically there arent any issues besides the nvidia control panel doesnt work on the battery and thats it..

and btw you cant change the gpu clock with the alienware bios even with the modified vbios i think first you have to flash vbios a clevo 880m vbios and then flash the modified one , because when i flashed the modified one i couldnt change the voltage nor memory but when i reflashed to stock clevo i could change the voltage and memory without the modified one so next time when i want to flash the modified one it will unlock the core limit and then i can fully unlock its power

when i reflashed my vbios back to stock which i used clevo bios instead of the alienware because i couldnt find one then something weird happened... suddenly i could change the voltage and the memory clock but the core clock is stock to 135 o.o is this normal ?

hello , please can someone share his 880m vbios backup i need to restore my original vbios since svl7 vbios is not working correctly i cant increase the voltage nor memory all i can increase further is the clock i dont know why they put an unfinished vbios to this forum and name it oc edition while you cant oc...

can someone tell me how can i get my stock vbios back ?

Hey so what program did you use trying to overclock? I recomment using nvidia inspector.

i used both nvidia inspector and msi afterburner they both have the same problem... btw i didnt back up my vbios will that be a problem for me in the future ? coz i might want to switch back to my stock bios since this one isnt functioning well

i really would like to overclock my gpu coz my m14r2 sux at ffxiv i barely play at low settings i need to unlock the bios so i can play with higher quality settings and no lag plz x.x im using bios a13

if ur planning on getting alienware m14xr2 i would recommend to buy a logitech n200 cooler its really useful for this laptop it takes away lots of heat

the readings r right and im using gpu-z im positive the maximum i selected was 970 but thats when i start my profile in the msi afterburner and when i dont load it ,, when i just plug in the charger the gpu speed jump to 752 and low temperture i dont know why ,, even when im using the battery the clocks goes to 405 always but before it used to go to 205 ..

i get these problems sometimes and before i could charge my phone from laptop usb port faster than i do now ,, before i could charge about 20% in 15min ,, and now it takes like 1h to charge 20% x.x

after overclocking with msi afterburner the clock on battery is always 405clock and when plugged in get to 752 always thats without playing games just using web or watching a movie before the overclocking it used to get to 205clock which is battery effcient but now it doesnt go down always high even when not using any app is that normal ?? and its 38c so i dont think there's an app working in background..

i already have a13 bios so if u unlocked a13 bios can i flash it over my a13 bios or i will need to do blind flash X.X ?

i want to unlock the voltage too i only tryed msi afterburner +100 clock and +1000 memory but i need more power how can i unlock the voltage without the blind flash because i dont know how to do blind flash im a newbie..
