Phantron, could you tell me how tall your card is? I know you said 179mm long, but the Galax GTX 970 I found online that most matches yours is 193mm long, 124mm tall. I was wondering if you had a slightly different model that is shorter. I'm trying to determine if this adapter I ordered will enable me to close the case over my 111m tall card.

@Macchione: With that adapter the DA-2 will always be on, because it includes the paperclip trick!

Hi all, I've been lurking for quite a while and have had to finally break down and make my first post! The fact that I haven't had to post yet is a testament to all the great information on this forum, thank you to everyone who has contributed. Anyway, I've ordered all the parts required for what will (hopefully) be a plug and play eGPU solution. These include: Akitio Thunder2, EVGA GTX960 (small form factor), Dell DA-2, and this adapter from eBay.

My first question is pretty basic. I think I have everything figured out except how to power on the DA-2 using the paperclip trick. Can anyone give me a little walkthrough of this?

I don't know how I did it exactly but I'm currently running GTX660Ti.

I'd love to run benchmarks but 3DMark shows 3.7 fps during physics test. Seems like it only uses 1 core.

Already noticed this yesterday so its not because of the GTX660ti.

Anyone got a hint to fix this? Maybe i should restore my windows install as it worked some days ago.

EDIT:

Restoring a clean install solved all problems. GTX660Ti works with OPs startup.nsh

Are you using Optimus to push the image to the internal display? I'm interesting in seeing if Optimus works with the 600 series cards.
