376.09 didn't work either?
Darn, I started to think that nvidia are ignoring us, the mpcie users, and focusing more into the more mainstream and profitable with bright future, thunderbolt?
Or did they intentionally do this? -
Hey guys, I just checked nvidia today, and they just released the 376.09 driver
Could anyone test it?
I am low on quota here... -
Okay guys, so I DDU'd my 372.70 notebook driver and Installed the desktop driver for 1060, so I could play with external display (don't judge me, I didn't know :()
and yesterday, I tried to install the modded notebook driver again, but It gave me error, the driver installer couldn't install the driver.
Frustated, I cleaned all the nvidia extracted drivers at C:\NVIDIA and downloaded drivers then ran the DDU in safe mode, then I downloaded the fresh 372.70 notebook driver, and installed it without modding the nvami.inf, both graphics card the dGPU and eGPU are installed, okay, so I disabled the dGPU, and restarted, ran a few games, and it crashed to dekstop, okay, restarted the laptop again, and then I played ME:Catalysts, it ran in the 1060, using the internal display, uh what? ain't this kind of wrong? shouldn't this fail?
Was it because I didn't cleaned the drivers thoroughly? but I was sure I used DDU and it was a fresh download?
Was it because nvidia used the same chip for pascal desktop and laptop? uh, so shouldn't the "driver modding" unnecessary?
Was it because....?
Oh, And I tried the Rise of Tomb Raider, my 1060 3GB just stuttered like hell using the very high texture, the game just ate all those tiny 3GB VRAM, so I dialed down the texture to high, the game ran smoothly, and the visual difference was unnoticeable,
Maybe for those with extra money, you should buy the 6GB version, I'll stick with my baby here for a while, an almost unnoticeable slight visual difference won't hurt me...

Im using the desktop drivers and an external display.
Using the desktop drivers, so I got it from the nv_dispi from driver 375.95. Besides that I just followed this guide: http://forums.guru3d.com/showthread.php?t=377158 but looking for all the strings in the original 375.95 driver instead of the pastebins.
I used nv_dispi.inf. Maybe it is some other problem?
Im running over expresscard, which shows up as hotplugable in hwinfo, and I also have a 7 second delay on the GDC beast. Without the delay I get error 43.Got a chance to fiddle around and test the card this morning, but I get really bad results (were talking average 10-12 seconds is unigine heaven no matter the quality). Might be the modded drivers or something else. Currently the 1050ti does not beat the HD4000 which is kind of disappointing.
Hmmm...., so it's partially solved? but the performance is even worse than HD4000? -

How did you put this thing to work??
I'm using a GDC Beast v8.0 mpci GTX 1060 3GB on Windows 10 64bits, tried EVERY SINGLE DRIVER for gtx 1060, but got nothing, same "code 43" error
ps: Acer aspire v1 571g i7 3632qm no dgpu, only hd graphics 4000.
I can see the gtx 1060 3gb on device manager and on gpuz, but not working, 0mhz on gpuz and code 43 on device manager.
Help me guys, PLEASE!
Did you use ddu to clean your drivers installation before installing the 1060 driver?
Mine's just working perfectly.
If the error still persists, then it's something else that's causing the problem -

I got rid of error 43 by adding 1050ti to 372.70 inf file. But I have not had time to test it properly! I shows up in gpu-z at least, with all specs properly defined
Congrats dude!...
Are you using the notebook or dekstop driver?
Are you using the internal or external display? -

How did you get it to work with the internal monitor? I even tried with an HDMI cable from my eGPU to my HDMI IN port and didn't succeed.
I just modded the geforce 372.70 notebook driver to support desktop 1060, got the tutorial from youtube...
or just replace your nvami.inf in driver with mine, if you got 1060 3GB too2 hours ago, forfudgesake said:returning is probably the smartest, but where's the fun in that? I bought the 1050ti since if this egpu project fail I can put it in a prebuilt computer in my parents cabin. So I'll stick with it a little longer, at least over the next weekend.
I come bring good news:
"GTX 1050 was tested with NVIDIA driver version 370_00."
quote from:
https://blogs.nvidia.com/blog/2016/10/18/geforce-gtx-1050-and-1050-ti/
which means that the driver probably have support in some way.
LOL, I got no time for further mod, I just wanna play games, in my laptop...
But good luck with that -
Anyone who got 1050 ti for egpu with mpcie, and got no access of the advanced bios settings, maybe for now, it's better to sell or return it...
I did, I got stuck with this problem too, it was sold in 2 hours
Now I got the 1060 3GB, It works with 372.70, and using internal monitor.
I'm playing ME:Catalyst and MGS V like never before, I'll buy another games knowing this beast could handle all those games...
Problem solved for me, at least for now... -

Yes, 372.70 are the last known working drivers. Drivers past that point have issues for mPCIe users (and up until recently, Thunderbolt users).
No a 1060 will have the same issue. It's all Pascal cards. ArtemisHD said he is using 372.70, which are the last drivers that worked flawlessly. I'm sure if he tries running the latest drivers (375.95), he will hit Error 43 also.
Yes, I know he is using 372.70, my problem is, 1050 ti has no drivers that could work with mpcie, I was stuck...
At least, I could play games with the old driver, until Nvidia finally fix the problem (hopefully)
And I still could use this card for my desktop, far away at my home when I'm back (I don't know when)
My laptop got optimus too, so it is maybe better I got the card from the green...
I don't know if buying the 9xx is still worth it... -

I've been following this thread for a while now and I just wanted to let you know that I'm currently running a Palit GTX 1060 3GB eGPU through my EXP GDC 8.4d (mPCIE) with NVIDIA 372.70 drivers on Windows 10 x64 build 10.0.10586 without any issues at all. I also have my dGPU GTX460M enabled and I can use my dGPU by switching to laptop display from the windows display settings or eGPU by switching to the external display. I hope this helps, thanks!
So, sir, there is still hope for the green team, especially the pascal 10xx...
sold my 1050 ti BTW, so, maybe I'll get 1060 now...
I am really lost with the red GPU's, never used it since 2009

all the Pascal cards are concerned, not only the 1050ti.
Nvidia clearly wants us to move to AMD.
Just sold my 1050 ti...
Considering to buy a new GPU, your 1060 works flawlessly with old 372.70 right?
Could the 372.70 driver be used for both 1060 6GB and 3GB?
Or, should I move to the team red? again? -
Here we go, 375.95 ain't working either,
So egpu using 1050 ti with mpcie is a bad option now, we're doomed because the oldest driver for it is 375.63
Any success story using 1050 ti?
Should I wait for nvidia to finally fix their driver?
Or should I sell my 1050 ti and get 750 ti or 1060?
-
Ok, I just got 1050 ti as an egpu.
It shows error 43 too.
Using 375.86
Error 43 with NVidia 372.90 and newer drivers -> Use 372.70

Very logical answer...
So we still stuck with this, maybe for a long time.
