Hi, I see you upgraded the cpu to quad i7. I want to ask that except put the cpu into the socket, do you need to do something else, like upgrade the power adapter, bios...? Mine is f21, do I need higher version?

Well you'll also need to reapply thermal paste (duh). BIOS upgrade isn't necessary, but I'd do so if possible, just to be safe.

@egpuer, I bought 4-cores processor three years ago and don't remember what bios I had but now the bios is F.63. I use 90w power adaptor.

The last one is VERY IMPORTANT: Use a 90W power adapter. The 65W one isn't enough for quad core 2570p, which has been discussed before.

  2. Hello folks, it's OverTallman the Otaku Racer putting my foot onto the Inferno.

Some may recognize me in NBR, most known as the one who still use a decade-old D420 as a daily driver, and recently purchased a 2570p.

Since I've got my quad core 2570p up and running, I thought I may as well contribute a bit on this matter.

Hope to make friends here, too :)
