Well but the 16.3 driver allows me to route the image to both screens. Like it has separate parts to communicate separately with each screen.

I have a problem with the new Radeon Drivers from 16.5 to 16.12. My installation process is: 1. DDU to uninstall 16.3 (working driver) 2. Restart and install new driver. 3. New driver works. The problem is: 1. The new driver works only on the external screen. 2. The laptop screen still has display, but not identifiable. 3. The laptop card is still recognized, but the laptop screen doesn't seem to respond.

I am sorry I didn't understand the solution you quoted. But it seems to be a solution for the Dell Power Supply, which I don't use. I am using a VS 450 ATX power supply with the usual 20 and 4pins to power mobo and CPU. I just wonder if I use the 24pin to 8pin cable there will be any compatibility or overpower and can potentially fry my dock and GPU.

Just yesterday I got the above setup working together. However, I have encountered some performance issues: - Scenario: The Witcher 3, White Ochard, Medium High, Ultra here and there (I will add a picture as soon as I can), Hairworks off. - GPU Load peaks at 98%, CPU Load peaks at 25%. Most of the time hovers around 15%. Active Core Count: mostly just 1, sometimes 2. - FPS: 21 to 22 FPS at White Ochard. May get to 50 while swimming. - Battery performance: High Performance. Here are my questions: - Is there something wrong with my CPU Software/Hardware. - Has anyone experienced the same situation. - I have seen many posts around the web saying that low CPU Utilization is a good thing. But my application is not running fast enough. Is there anyway to make the CPU run more? I'm sorry if this topic is posted in the wrong thread and Thank you in advance.

I don't know if it's late but I just want to say thank you for your helpful guide. I followed this instruction for R9 290 and clean uninstall for AMD Drivers (Nvidia 760 guide) and now I have an awesome Crimson driver running on my M4800: Firepro as primary, Radeon R9 200 as secondary if I attach it to a monitor. Hi. I'm new and this thread is the very reason I signed up. I have a Dell Precision M4800: i7 4810MQ, Firepro M5100, 8Gb, Windows 8.1 64-bit. eGPU setup: GDC Beast V8 expresscard version, R9 280x Gigabyte Windforce. I plugged all the needed cables (ATX pin, 4-pin to the V8, 6 and 8-pin to the card) and of course the expresscard to my laptop. Problem: - Windows recognized my vga as "Microsoft Basic Display Adapter". - When I try to install Crimson 16.3.2 for Radeon, 14.12 Omega, the lap BSODed. I really hope there's some solution so I can pair the sexy CPU with the feisty GPU. Thank you in advance. EDIT: YAAAY! I found an installation guide for R9 290 by darky and now my Egpu runs rock solid!
