@Dschijn Thanks, i already connected it and it works perfectly I tried to get it working onder OS X too and i did but i don't have sound there, its not seeing my display as sound system anymore. You have any suggestions?

@Dschijn Hi there, i started the project today and i made pictures and i wanted to show to you first to make sure i did it right. Hope you will tell me i did it right so i can all connect it and start playing
First pic is the barrel i made. I cut the 4 wires directly off the PSU. 2 yellow wires in the plus, 2 black ones in the minus.
Second pic is the 24 pins connected to the 24 pins with wire like you told me to buy
3th pic is the 2 pcie cables to the videocard
I guess i don't need all the other cables on the PSU? Can i put the barrel in the akitio, connect the thunderbolt cable to my computer? Then its ok? Look forward to your reply. Cant wait to start Thanks in advance again.

Yes i read that, i guess im capable to bend it Well thank you a lot for the help. I guess i have everything i need now so im gonna order it all Maybe when it all arrives i need some help putting it together Thank you very much for the help you gave me

Perfect, thank you so much! So just to make sure, i will need:
Akito thunder2
EVGA 100-B!-0700 PSU
GTX 980 card
DC stecker from your link
8-pin EPS from your linkThen im complete? Or do i need something to power on the system, i do not really like using a paperclip. Does the 8-pin EPS you send the link from that trick?

I really can't solder and i don't have solder tools as well, so as easy as it can be please

Hahaha ok, thats fine
- Well i guess TB1 has speed enough to handle the GTX 980? Well lets say, im future proof
- Perfect, if you would advice an other psu im open for it
- Ok, so it won't damage the card with 3x 75W?
Well i read that part like 3 times but for me its just to complicated to fully understand it, i guess when i have the right stuff i can put it together with some help
Yes i would really appreciate the links, then im sure im getting the right stuff to complete the job. Thanks in advance again. Your a big help

The CPU cable should be the EPS one that is supposed to go into my barrel plug cable.
The PCIe cable into the GPU
The PSU starter into the 24-pin of the PSU, the big wide cable.
Thanks for your quick reply Dschijn but its not really helping me. What i understand is your selling a specific cable that i need? Whats EPS? Im really green about this and spend like 10 hours searching and reading on how to do it. Really hope you can be a little more clear. Thanks in advance.

Hi there, im confused. I really want to build an external GPU with the Akitio as base to start. I just can't figure out the power supply part. Im not an engineer or something and although there is really a lot of information on this great forum i just don't get any further so i really really hope someone can help me going. I have a Mac Mini late 2012 top model, so quad core i7 16 gigs of ram and 500 GB SSD. I want to buy the GeForce GTX 980. It has 2 x 6 pins power connectors. I found the EVGA 100-B1-0700-K1 700W SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Power Supply, which has the 2 x 6 pins power connector. But what i read is that the 6-pins connector delivers like 75 w max, so 2 x 75w is 150w. The GTX 980 needs 165W according the geforce.co.uk site. I can't solder or something so i need it as easy as it can be. I really hope someone can help me to get it right. Thanks in advance for your reply.
