I found a video in your link that does describe somewhat my problem. Though im not entirely sure thats the right noise. These seem to be high squeaking noises whereas mine is kind of a mechanic clicking. Soooo annoying. i'll have a look to see if i can narrow down the problem. Thanks!

Hey guys.

 

I've finally gotten my egpu up and running, and when i enter a game, the card / box makes a ticking noise. Has anyone else experienced this? I cannot say if this comes from the card or the akitio box. Sorry.

Im running macbook pro retina w/750M. Geforce 970 gtx and aikitio thunder 2 box.

 

I haven't been able to test another card in the case as i only have 1.

 

I'd love to hear solutions to this problem as I'm going mental of the ticking noise.

Thanks for your run through I have one question though. I'm thinking about making my system run on Windows 10( or 8 if need be). What does it mean when you say that you ran with the efi mode?

I've finally got my setup patched together and im working on getting the software part to work. When i run the script i get this error as seen in the screen shot. Any ideas? I run Macbook Pro 15" retina with 750m late 2013 with el capitan. Is the only solution to downgrade the OS?

Thanks for your effort though. But that's what i figured. I stumbled over another post where they talked about it after i read your reply. They were saying the same thing :/ I have arranged to buy a Cinema display tomorrow instead, as i understand, this will work with the system? yes?

Thank you so much I'm worried that i need to buy yet another display to make this work. Spending alot on the system already really makes this a concern..

So i've recently run into a bit of a concern. I've read in here, that the monitor has to be connected to the graphics card itself, not the thunderbolt in the eGPU, which makes me wonder. Will the eGPU setup work with a Apple thunderbolt display? Does anyone have any experience with this?

I'm concerned that the screen won't actually turn on with the computer.

 

I might add that i'm running a MBPr late 2013, with 750M graphics card - Apple Thunderbolt display, and an Aikitio encasing. Planning on getting this to work on OSX.

I'm new here, and i've been reading up on all the info regarding eGPUs. I'm very nervous about how to make a barrel for the powering of the aikitio. Is there any way i can buy a completely finished edition of the cable, or 2 components that just needs to be connected to each other? i've searched through the forums, and it seems all the links are dead now. I looked at http://www.ebay.com/itm/RockMiner-R-Box-Power-Cable-2-PK-12v-PCI-E-to-3x-5-5mm-x-2-5mm-DC-barrel-plugs-/252249359994?hash=item3abb3bc67a:g:GRYAAOSwnDZT6Udv  but i dont know if this can be used for that purpose?
