Hey there, some fresh news for you guys
-
Finally one very interesting ! On top of that, I think the new MBPr 15" 2016 will have more or less the same specs as the NUC.
i7-6770HQ
Iris Pro P580
16Go DDR4
NVMe SSD
Thunderbolt 3 x4
(I hope)
Some more fresh benchmarks : https://www.reddit.com/r/razer/comments/4p24nl/razer_blade_stealth_razer_core_gtx_1070_benchmarks/

Everyday I'm checking this ... Look at my previous post and except a short review by Dave Lee there is nothing relevant

Why there is no Razer Core review ? It's available for a while ... I don't get it
-
-
Thx Dschijn, so it's 230€ the case + ~50€ power supply + ~40€ Pcie/Thunderbolt 3 => 320€ eGPU Case ?
We still have no news from Akitio ?
-
Gigabyte new eGPU case at Computex !
-
" The Akitio Thunder3 PCIe SSD will be available in early Q2'16 for $1,299. " http://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/akitio-unveils-thunder3-pcie-ssd--worlds-first-and-fastest-thunderbolt-3-external-nvme-storage-with-intel-ssd-300252980.html
1300$ WTF ! I hope they won't release an overpriced eGPU case like the BizonBOX2 ...
-
You can use HW Info (link) for example
-
Thx Dschijn and yea the pricing is ridiculous

French article but interesting http://consomac.fr/news-4623-enfin-un-vrai-depart-pour-les-gpu-externes.html
This article is about this declaration made by the marketing director of AMD Robert Hallock

Was waiting for such a solution for 3D related work and substitute my aging x220, unfortunately the Blade Stealth does have only a 2-core CPU and 8gb not upgradable ram, a deal breaker.
Does anyone know a similar 12.5 laptop with TB3 on USB Type-C, but with at least upgradable/16gb ram? Do you think the Razr eGPU enclosure can be used on other laptops?
Look at the video posted by Tech Inferno Fan at 2:55
EDIT :
-
"Official" support for others laptops + Some specs about the Core (375W GPU + the rest for the laptop and USB)
-
Yea that's relevant. Thank you guys

Thank you for your answers !
So, from what i can see, nowadays TB3 is still enough but what about Pascal bandwith and future games bandwith requirements ? I'm afraid of the possible limitation of the Thunderbolt 3 speed in 2 or 3 years. I don't want to buy an +600€ eGPU to be limited because of Thunderbolt 3

Hi everyone,
I have got a few questions about Thunderbolt 3 and eGPU to ask you guys.
I'm planning to buy the next MBPr 15" with a i7 quad core Skylake processor, 16Go of DDR4 RAM and an SSD PCIe. I've decided to wait until the next Pascal GPU from nVidia (Q2/Q3 2016) to make an eGPU system. But I read that Pascal GPU bandwith will be aroud 1TB/s and I was wondering if the Thunderbolt 3 speed will be enough or not ?
Thank you in advance
