It seems like your temps are fine. The cooling in laptops is always a nightmare. Do you use and external cooling pad also? I use a cooler master with the 3 removable fans. There is some reason why your GPU is throttling. Try reverting back to an older driver maybe. Also I noticed some other monitor programs would mess with the GPU, so I don't use any now. Everything works perfect though on my 780m on maxed out settings in pretty much every game. But I have to use the external cooling.

Also check your thermal pasting. It doesn't take much to cover. just a super thin line. I found the MX4 to have much lower temps than the IC7 BTW.
Thanks for answer, i just realized that problem is with game. I can run Witcher 3 Wild Hunt on almost max settings with around 40 fps and temp are good and without throttling (max temp 77-78, thats really good). I also tryed with games like Risen 3 Titan Lords, Middle Earth Shadow of Mordor, Stranded Deep, Zombi.... every game works perfect except Lichdom Battlemage. I probably downloaded bad version of a game, but when i think a bit when i run the same game on my desktop with GTX 650 TI 2 GB OC it works perfect....maybe they were downloaded from different sources.
About thermal paste, my opinion on IC7 is: CRAP really hard to put in on gpu and it stinks. Paste do its job but i dont like it, before i was using Gelid GC-Extreme and i am really happy about that product. Easy to use it, but unfortunately i ran out of it and IC7 just came in post. I am gonna repaste it soon with GC-Extreme.
By the way, what is best working driver for GTX 780M? I am using 353.62, driver is ok but if there is better one i would like to know
Thanks.

Hey guys i have a problem. I have AW M17X R4 and i upgraded it to GTX 780M and i tryed to play Lichdom Battlemage, everything was good on very high settings until temp reach 86c and it drops down Mhz to 324 and temp by 10-15c after 5 min of gameplay. Then i bought 100w heatsink for GTX 680m and i installed it today with IC7 Diamond paste and i tryed to play the same game again. After maybe 15-20 min temp reach 77c and Mhz drop down to 324 and temp to 65c and it goes high as 77c and down to 65c over and over again. What i did wrong? Whats the problem? Is it maybe the new driver? I have 353.62 installed? Before with 75w heatsink it went to 86c and now with 100w it goes to 77c. Any help will be great, thanks.

excuse me, i got my alienware m7xr3 upgraded to gtx 770m...when im instaling the driver that you say in the older post "347.11 for alienware gtx 780" im already copy the .inf file on the display.driver replace the old one and when i tried to install the driver its says "failed to instal nvidia driver"... so i tried to google it "how to fix failed instal nvidia driver" they got 2 method and i tried two of them and its useless... at the first method they i go download "display driver uninstaller" when i open the progam its ask me for safe mode and i wipe all my display driver... and i reinstal the driver and its still failed... so i tried the second method it say "manual driver instalation using "device manager" i press "update driver software" and brows to the "display.driver" folder and tried to instal it manualy when the loading bar finish it say "already have the best driver for its hardware" lol... so now im asking for help...and the dxdiag wont detect the display card and driver

Hi guys,
i know that this is an old post but i need help. I just upgraded my AW 17x R4 from 660m to 780m and i am having problems, i followed instruction here how to install driver and that was sucessfull ( that driver is a bit old now, newest is 353.30 ) and when i run H1Z1 i have only 5,7 fps before on 660m i could play it with no problem on low, but now its unplayable. I dont know what i did wrong. I didnt flashed my bios, its A11 version. do i need to always install modded drivers or can i just download it automaticly from Nvidia Experience.
Any help will be good
