  1. I have the TLB2 matte monitor and I can hit 84Hz. But anything over 60Hz gives me red and green flashing pixels at random areas on the screen. Anyone know what's going on with this? Apart from the flashing pixels everything else is stable. This is what it looks like.. post-36843-14495000462567_thumb.jpg

Edit: ends up the display connector wasn't connecting fully. I just taped a bit of folded paper to hold it in place.

  2. Maybe this only happened to me but my OneKey button by the charging port that allows you to go to the BIOS setup doesn't work after flashing the modded BIOS. It just turns on the laptop, I have go through advanced restart to get into the BIOS.

Has anyone else experienced this/is there a fix? It's a useful feature to have incase Windows starts acting up and I can't get to the BIOS that way.

  3. I have the y510p with 755m SLI and my brother has the y50 with 860m (4gb vRAM not the 2gb). Between the two the y50 gets the same fps as the y510p, at best the y50 gets 5 fps better. The biggest improvement I've seen is the cooling as the y50 has an independent fan for the CPU and the GPU, but the surface of the y50 runs a bit warmer than the surface of the y510p (probably due to it being almost half an inch slimmer)

He's planning on doing the BIOS mod at some point

  4. I haven't modded my BIOS yet but from what I can tell Lenovo has the fan speeds on lockdown. I didn't see anything about fan speeds in modded BIOS run through

You could try the brown wire mod https://www.reddit.com/r/LenovoMasterRace/comments/2jtuhy/y510p_actual_hardware_fan_mod_30f_under_load/ but that locks the fans at 100%

Another option is running IdeaFan http://forum.techinferno.com/lenovo-ibm/7358-ideafan-y510p-y500-g500-y580-y410p.html which runs fans at 100% in intervals of 9s on 1s off

Not sure if this is of any help but it's all I know as far as fan control goes

  5. I'm running 755m SLI and I'm getting 40+ FPS on Watch Dogs at medium/high settings and nvidiaInspector tweaks. Only issue I'm running into is the heat. I'm not seeing temps going higher than 93c after a hour or two of gaming but I'd it to run in the 80s. I've been thinking about unlocking the BIOS and playing with those settings, has anyone had any luck with that?
