that's exactly what I took for a reference, AMDHawaiiGraphicsAccelerator
except for the El Capitan built and I used Coda for your script and TextWrangler for the .kext files
maybe I have the time to upgrade to the GM in a couple of days

@BastiFH: Nice tiny Nano there!! :D
My script is already prepared for Fiji architecture, but the acceleration part is still missing from both the OS X 10.10.5 and OS X 10.11 GM. "Accelerator not found" error message means that exactly. However, the binary files do contain “Fiji”, so in theory you can try adding a block named “AMDFijiGraphicsAccelerator” in AMDRadeonX4000.kext, and then modify the line 58 as follows:amd_x4000_codenames=(Bonaire Hawaii Pitcairn Tahiti Tonga Verde Fiji)
thanks for the advice. what about 10.10.4 ?
but what am I supposed to add on that new block?AMDFijiGraphicsAccelerator ..
most probably some value for IOPCIMatch and maybe some addition to sensor-properties, cail_properties, ..
IOPCIMatch would be 0x73001002 according to my screenshot^^ (device-id/manufacturer-id) I will try without the other *properties, I really don't know what they are for.
edit: alright.. ran into another bunch of errors. always the same cache/owner message.
tried uninstalling, reboot and install again, same error. did try another reboot with my Akitio attached and 'voilá'..
internal and external screen powered by AMD eGPU:
but no hardware acceleration, that kind of.. sucks :D retro-style
btw. @goalque: even after uninstalling your script, there's a message to open preferences Nvidia .. but there's no Nvidia anymore :D thanks for your support guys !! ;-)- 1

of course, my LG 34UM95 is connected through DP cable - did change through all three DP ports on the Nano. nothing..
maybe it's because of the error at the end of the script.
I don't even understand why something changed .. I only read through .kext's, did not change anything.
but suddenly
IOPCITunnelCompatible mods are valid. Can't create kext cache under / - owner not root.
All ready. Please restart the Mac.appeared on third try.
here's a little picture of the Akitio equipped with that tiny graphics card
edit:
I don't really know what this actually does.. but it seems to be the problem according to the script in lines 850/60
touch /System/Library/Extensions
kextcache -system-cachesedit2:
this ain't no script message
Can't create kext cache under / - owner not root.
could not find it in the script, so it has to be an error from one of the lines mentioned above^
will try to repair permissions and run the script again
-
now I'm getting a different message after running the script for a third time:
Checking IOPCITunnelCompatible keys...
IOPCITunnelCompatible mods are valid.
Can't create kext cache under / - owner not root.
All ready. Please restart the Mac.after rebooting I get kernel panic while watching the Apple logo, loop until I disconnect the TB cable to the Akitio
@BastiFH: can you post pictures (in another thread) and maybe try to make it run Windows?once it's up and running under OSX I'll try a bootcamp setup
--
edit:
SystemInformation now lists two gpu's after connecting the TB cable in OSX again
will upload a picture..

Hi guys,
I just received my new Radeon R9 Nano from Sapphire,
Plugged it into my AKitio and it "spins up".
The Script recognizes the GPU but won't install any driver.
Is there anything I have to do before it works?
"Native AMD support, masks for any card if codename is found"
I was successfully using a gtx 970 before on my MBair 11"

Thanks for your support.
edit
uninstalled driver, restart, nothing changed.
only HD5000 in SystemInformation
edit2:
after running your script again, I get the same terminal log - it even recognizes previous installed NVidia driver, which is gone (nothing sys pref left)
edit3:
I checked your script for references to "amd"
compared to my OS.. I can't find any AMD* files in Automate-eGPU folder
will check manually for changes in in System Library Extensions ..
edit4:
everything seems to be okay in IONDRVSupport.kext and AMD9000Controller.kext if I understand the script correctly

@ Morv :
ran Heaven each with HDMI and DP connected, no difference except for the frequency limitation of 30 by HDMI.
will stay with DP
that setup will do for the time being until TB3 Air's / MB's will arrive next year <3
@ goalque :
Can't wait to see these improvements with a TB3 setup I'm already happy with my TB1-limited/TB2-built under OSX
thanks guys for your support!!
-
@ Dschijn :
how do I switch "main screens" ?
Simply switching menubar from air to LG in screen settings ?
-
@ Morv:
I also attached HDMI from Akitio to LG and suddenly three screens were shown in screen tab -> third with gtx 970
Now I'll try some benchmarks with HDMI and DP - thanks again!!
-
@ Dschijn + Morv:
thanks for pointing that out, I thought it would be logical to use the same kind of (TB) port for the screen.
Anyway, by the time you answered I already threw out all that nvidia stuff.
So I just reinstalled the script (new version) and connected though DP to my LG but the only difference is in sysinfo: the LG screen is now assigned to my gtx 970.
But on the screen tab you can see that only iGPU is used for both screens, web driver is selected.
Air -original TB cable-> Akitio -DP cable-> LG
tried switching drivers with and without TB cable attached
thanks for your support
-
@Dschijn: Air -Apple TB-Cable-> Akitio -Akitio TB-Cable-> LGI even switched TB ports on the Akitio, detached Akitio and switched to default gfx driver and back on; nothing.--checked kext files for CFBundleIdentifier:

^ was missing a couple of times, reboot but no luck. -
can you give me some advice how to select my eGPU after using the script?
Nvidia taskbar icon, syssettings panel active, Web Driver is selected, I see both cards in sysinfo but on the screen tab only iGPU is "active".
I'm on OSX 10.10.2
