  1. Hello svl7, I come to you with a slight issue. I have been wanting to re flash my GTX880m in my GT70 bare-bones ordered from Xotic PC. However the Modified bios that you have made for the (GTX880m) was based of the Clevo card bios, not the MSi card bios. I know it says in your description that the 880m bios would work for any manufacturer but I can assure you that statement is false! Reason being the Clevo bios is twice the size of the MSi bios. Setting off an alarm for me. However, I still tried it to no avail. The flash was successful, but windows did not recognize my card. So could you please do me a favor and modify the attached bios for me? Everything unlocked of course, including voltage.

    MSi Stock Bios: MSI.GTX880M.8192.131219.zip

yes, got type/comatibility mismatches warnings from nvflash before updating but i flashed with -6 parameter. windows reported device error until i reflashed to original bios.

i have an ivy-GT70, seems to be different from haswell or/and from clevo. maybe a bios problem. i hope someone has reliable information about that.

THANK YOU. We need it to be knows that the Clevo vBios will not work with the MSi vBios.

  2. important info for GT70 ivy bridge users with upgraded 880m 8GB:

i tried to upgrade my 880m with the posted oc-bios. upgrade failed! nvflash showed mismatches during upgrade which i think is normal.

windows could not start the device driver for the OC card.

so i downgraded back to the previously saved stock.rom and everything is ok - but without OC :(

if someone is interested to evaluate it - or even better - to switch it in an OC-version - I uploaded my 880m 8GB stock rom in the kepler bios related thread

Bump. Seriously cross with this problem. I don't understand the issue here. Can someone shed some light for us?

  3. I have a question concerning the flashing of a 880M from an AW17 bought in early 2015 (AW17-R1).

My concern is that the original 880M bios backup size differs from the modded 880M bios made by svl7.

my original bios size is 169984 bytes (backed up with nvflash 5.136 under dos) Version 80.04.F5.00.07 (P2053-0002) from 12-March-2014

svl7 modded bios is 170496 bytes (from Nvidia GTX 880m - 'OC edition' - rev00.zip)

Since I am quite a novice about flashing roms I would like to take extra precautions before flashing my 880M.

So my question is : Shouldn't both roms be of equal size ? (original and modded one)

It would be great if svl7 himself or any other expert could enlighten me about this issue.

    thanks

I second this. My Stock Vbios was 94kb.

And the new one is 167kb?

The flashing also was completed successfully according to NVflash. However. My 880M only shows up as a generic video adapter and not an 880m. The drivers will also not install. Did I miss something?

  4. You may have to download and install a custom bios to achieve higher voltage settings, or to have the voltage limit unlocked. However I do not advise doing so because it will void your warranty Your graphics card chip may also not be able to handle the increase in volts and clock speeds so tread with care.

  5. Id pickup a better single card option. The price/performance of SLi is still not justifiable for the performance gain. You will get better overall performance with one single more Powerful card. Trust me. This is coming from a guy who had a Triple SLI 570 setup.
