I currently have a Lenovo Y410p laptop and I'm having some issues with the current network adapter (Intel Centrino Wireless-N 2230). Additionally I have heard that the performance of this network adapter is sub-par. I want to replace my network adapter but I don't know where to start looking for one that is suitable. Just looking for some guidance to get started.

I've already modded the BIOS on my laptop so adapter compatibility should not be an issue... I think.

That depends on your router ofcourse you won't benefit from 7260AC if you dont have an AC capable router. Make sure to also invest on a AC powered router or a dual band N router. I also suggest a usb type network adapter so that you can use it on your future laptop since mini pci is being replaced with m.2 socket wifi adapter.

I've been using IC Diamond since my 1st laptop and it never failed me. Im using it on my current Alienware laptop. Im planning to test out a different one for my next repasting.

Based on my experience i replace mine around 1-2 years that depends on the temps ofcourse since i got alot of spare time i usually clean my fan every 3 months or less.. Its a matter of patience when cleaning your laptop.
