I've been trying to set up my eGPU with a new (used) laptop and it won't detect.
I recently had the same card and adapter plugged into an Dell E4310 and it worked flawlessly, even with 2 mPCIe lanes, so I know Setup 1.3 will work with Latitude laptops, it just refuses to detect my GPU right now.
I've moved the WLAN card from slot to slot, so I know all the mPCIe slots function, and the GPU will even power on with all the lights and fans, but it won't show up in Setup's status box.
I don't think this is a problem with the DSDT or TOULD; I haven't run in to any RAM problems or error messages yet.
The only modification I've done to the laptop since I got it was update all the drivers/BIOS from Dell's website and install Setup; and it's running Win10 Pro 64-bit. I've tried everything I know, and to no avail, but at least all my components seem to not be broken.
Any advice is welcome and greatly appreciated. I'll try almost anything at this point (though I don't know how to use DOS/cmd prompt or registry editor much at all, so I don't know if I could figure those out for this). If nothing else, I'll try getting a PE4C v3.0 or EXP GDC and see if that makes a difference.
Thanks in advance for any help,
Chrishnaw

Have you tried the v4.1? I'm looking to upgrade from the v2.1, but I can't find any documentation on if/how it works, and with what laptop models.

I know this is a 4 month old thread, but I'm searching for info on M.2 setups. Have you gotten any farther with this project? To answer your question, according to the Wiki page (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M.2#Form_factors_and_keying) you do have an A/E module M.2, which should be compatible with the Bplus PE4C v4.1 (http://www.hwtools.net/Adapter/PE4C V4.1.html), but I haven't yet found any documentation on it working.

For what it's worth, I've got a x2 link running from my Latitude 4310 to my R9 270X through the PE4C v2.1, but it's got a 1st gen i5 and I don't know if the E4000 family supports CPU swapping.

For the life of me I can't get the DSDT override to work and I need you guys' help.
I've followed Angerthosenear's instructions verbatim but get an error at step 12: "asl /loadtable dsdt.aml"
I've searched for "Count not access the registry path:" and a dozen other clues or hints on this forum and Google but haven't found anything useful.
My laptop is a Dell Latitude E4310 (same as the one Nando4 used to test his DSDT override):
Intel 5-series chipset, QS57 motherboard
Core i5-560M
4GB installed RAM (want to upgrade to 8GB soon)
Win7 Pro, SP1

Hello everyone. I'm new here, just gearing up for my first eGPU, and have a few questions
My laptop doesn't have a discrete GPU, just the Intel HD iGPU. I've read here that Nvidia/AMD dGPU drivers have to be uninstalled before setting up an eGPU, so does the same go for Intel graphics drivers, or do they stay installed?
Is there a particular reason the majority of people here are using an Nvidia card? I'm planning on using an AMD.
Thanks in advance.

I've spent a lot of time on this forum and while I've learned a lot, I still have many questions that I'm looking for solutions to. The forum stickies and almost every thread that Nando starts hold almost all the information I need, but navigating them is a bit obtuse for new users or people with specific/rare problems.
Is there a community wiki/wikia that organizes this information in a concise, easily searchable, less-linear fashion? If not, can we make one? I quite like Reddit's system of wiki-building, and I think it's familiarity would help bring in newcomers to the eGPU community.

Update: I just tried everything on https://www.techinferno.com/index.php?/forums/topic/8947-mpcieec-egpu-troubleshooting-steps/, except for the paperclip trick, which I'll try next. Fortunately, my laptop has an EC slot, so if that doesn't work I'll just get a new adapter with an EC cable instead of mPCIe.
