maybe its because I like to open up my laptop (m14x), but I open the entire thing down to the MB every month or two and clean everything. Because I use an industrial cooling pad, my fan is always caked in dust, so i just get my air compressor and set it to around 30 psi, then i blast the air reverse through the fan. all the stuff on the inside of the heatsink comes out and the fan is nice and clean.

I built a custom cooling pad. It uses a 120v to 18v dc transformer, three 60mm industrial fans, and a on/off switch on the side, Its at about a 17 degree angle, and I have the fans cut out for where my laptop needs cooling. I have an overclocked m14x, thus I have the left fan forcing air into the heatsink, the middle fan cooling the core of the laptop, and the right fan pulling air through the ram. I have noticed temp drops around 20 degrees.

I will be trying this for sure! Interesting read!

(At least for me) That seems to be higher than it should. I like my temps to max at 75. You should consider upgrading the heatsink, adding more fans, and using better thermal paste.
nVidia vs AMD: Your pick and why.

AMD is known for the price/power ratio being the best. From my experience though, AMD has a worse rep as far as the cooling department goes. Their chips (for me) have always overheated much sooner than intel. Intel has a built in throttler so it doesn't over heat and fry. Even when over clocked.
