0 throttling with the SVL7 vbios. Ran 1 benchmark with the stock vbios to see it throttling and not even getting into boost. Running +80mhz overclock on stock voltage with 0 issues so far.

Was direct plug and play. Auto downloaded drivers and rebooted and was done.

Stock clock vs +50/500 overclock on svl7 vbios.

Result

Just upgraded my 770m to an 880m and flashed your vbios.

770m +150/500 +.075mv vs 880m stock clocks vs 880m +50/500 all on your vbios. 770m would tdp power throttle at these clocks in game.

I have an MSI card on the way for my alienware laptop. Should I flash that vbios or the one on the first page?

As far as I remember all you need is a modded driver.

If not, I advise you to stay away from the 880M. Too many throttling/overheating issues, to the point that Dell downgraded GPUs under warranty to the 780M!!

Thanks for the help. I was under the impression that the svl7 vbios fixed the throttling issues? I also ordered the 3 pipe heatsink and R4 11.4cfm gpu fan to replace the stock <2 cfm fan, so I'm not too concerned with heat.

Are there any write-ups in what I need to do software-wise for this? First time putting upgrading a gpu in a laptop. The card is out of an msi.

Any way to raise the perfcap on the 770m version 2 bios? Locked in nvidia inspector.

I've been using my Kepler GPU at 1.05V for 2 years now, no issues. I wouldn't want to use more than 1.1V if I was you, if you can keep it in the 70's or below.

I'm up to 1.075V now and +150mhz and it's stable. Seems like it likes more and move voltage. Temps are 67 max with stock fan control, probably would be under 60 with manual.Does this bios have unlocked fan control? The only way I have found to adjust it so far is with hwinfo64.

Any good links or advice on voltage? I don't want to fry or significantly shorten the GPU's life. I lost the silicon lottery with my 770m, could only do about 35mhz on the stock vbios/voltage. Finally flashed it last night and got it up to 130mhz with +.0625 voltage. Max temp was 67 with stock fan control, 58 with them at 100% manually, so it looks like I have a ton of headroom with the stock heat sink.
