  1. Actually, if you have watched DDR3 prices of the last year they have come down almost 50%. Last year this time prices were hovering around 200 USD for 16GB. Today, a year later, they are much closer to 100 USD. I would not have expected this as DDR4 production ramps up. Traditionally when a new technology comes into popularity the old technology's prices plain out and then decrease slightly over the next year while stocks are still high and then start to increase as stocks decline until they are depleted.

    I would expect to see DDR3 prices be fairly steady from here on out. Over the last year however, they have dropped so quickly that many manufacturer's are offering rebates to help consumers catch up to market prices.
