  2. I am make an assumption that most people don't change out their processor or head sink every day. You might be surprised how many people try to reuse a tube of paste that has been opened for 6 months (or longer). They way I see it $10 for a tube of paste is a lot better than having to replace a fried processor.

If I order a new proessor or remove the heat sink for any reason if I don't have an unopened tube lying around the house I always order a new one.

Lol wow. So how much money have you wasted on thermal paste? Ive had tubes of Arctic Silver 5 laying around for a couple of years that were still good to use. As long as the cover is closed there is no problem and the paste will be good for a long time.

  3. Alienware is probably making the wrong move here and will probably lose a lot of customers. At the time when I purchased my Alienware 14 in 2013 it was the perfect laptop and had everything I wanted. The other brands at the time did not and I also have a dell preferred account so that at the time made it easier. Will I buy Alienware again I do not know depends on what they are offering when I need to upgrade and what other brands out there are like.

  4. I dont understand why you had so much trouble ordering it. I just went online and configured my build and it was shipped to me. I have had no problems at all with my purchase and I bought my laptop in 2013. I have also bought plenty of dell laptops and desktops over the years and have not had one single problem with them. I have had to use customer service a few times but it was for minor things and everything went smooth. Sounds like they are going downhill fast.

  5. Ive always bought Dell laptops and Ive never had a problem with them and Ive bought a lot of laptops from them. I purchased my first Alienware 14 from them in 2013 and have not had a problem with it at all. So I dont know how the warranty is but Ive heard there warranty sucks.

  6. Ive been having overheating problems with my alienware 14. My temps idle are usually 50 to 60c and with load go anywhere from 60c to 100c. My gpu stays around 63 on load and doesnt really go any higher. I have replaced the thermal grease with Arctic Silver 5 and I am still having temp problems. Whenever I run a stress test with Prime 95 or the Dell utility the pc shuts off usually within a few seconds.

Ive been looking for answers for this but have not found any yet.
