Hello jayl86
to see the differences in simple numbers:
i5-3570K (7162)
PassMark - Intel Core i5-3570K @ 3.40GHz - Price performance comparison
i7-4960X (13981)
PassMark - Intel Core i7-4960X @ 3.60GHz - Price performance comparison
i7-5960X (15981)
PassMark - Intel Core i7-5960X @ 3.00GHz - Price performance comparison
Here you can see with an upgrade to i7-4960X you can almost double the power!
The differenc between the i7-4960X and i7-5960X isn´t big, but if you use the i7-5960X you need DDR4-RAM which isnt cheap.
Why do you need such an high-performance CPU?
Best regards

Hello sagent64,
you can set the 7970m in the catalyst control center from AMD to a program.
1. Rightclick on the desktop and choose "Catalyst Control Center"
2. Energiemanagement - Switchable Graphics
3. Browse the program
4. Choose "High Performance"

Hi menko2,
if you wanna compare them i would recommend the website:
PassMark Software - Video Card (GPU) Benchmark Charts
And there you can see:
GTX 680m (3449)
PassMark - GeForce GTX 680M - Price performance comparison
GTX 980m (6573)
PassMark - GeForce GTX 980M - Price performance comparison
The GTX 980 is almost twice as good.
The system is a good one! High-End CPU, enough RAM and a good SSD.

What hardware do you have?
(CPU, GPU, Motherboard, RAM,...)
-
Raspberry 2 is a very good invention.
But i found the ODROID XU3-Lite:
Better CPU, RAM,...
Ok the price of the Raspberry 2 is lower - but if you need power the ORDOID is a good choice

I would recommend the y50-70:
Lenovo Y50-70 39,6 cm Notebook schwarz: Amazon.de: Computer & Zubehör
(sorry for german amazon)
Its a very very good laptop! A friend of me bought one for school - still happy

GPU-Intensive:
Assassins Creed Unity
Watch Dogs
GTA IV (Modded!) - soon GTA V

Visual difference between GTX 980M 4GB & 8GB
in NVIDIA Video Cards
Posted
Hello marteng,
in my opinion you dont need the 8 GB VRAM because with an GTX 980M you can play in 1080p or 1440p - not 4k.
(Higher resolution => More VRAM)
If you wanna play in 4k you will need an desktop-pc with an high-end graphicskard (GTX 980).
Best regards
