Hi all,
Do you know how to emergency recover BIOS in Y510p? I tried to use common method of Insyde BIOS recovery (starting with USB flashdrive).
I tried several options (formatting USB drive to different filesystems, using different USB drive sizes, sticking to different USB sockets, using different key-holding Fn-B, Fn-R, Fn-Esc, Win-B... etc, and starting laptop using both PowerOn key and "special" BIOS key on the left) but nothing worked.
The filename I used was YX01.BIN (tried different filename extension as well... .rom, .bios, etc). No luck so far - Laptop starts but flashing procedure is not started.
Do you have any ideas? Thanks.
I found this:
1.copy Yx01.bin to U disk root directory(none bootable) .
2.shut down and unplug battery and power adapter.
3.insert U disk.
4.press and hold the Fn+R hotkey.
5.plug in the power adapter.
6.release Fn+R hotkey.
7.boot pc.
8.wait...

EDIT: I fixed it partially by Forceware_coolbits from Guru3D.com but still there are situations for example in CS:GO where i getting random artifacts and display freeze/sound loop occur. Now i can play GTA 5 with sli with no crashes but it isnt complete fix. I'm looking for help from you .
I have the same problem with CSGO and Dying Light.
I tried:
- Windows 8 System Recovery;
- Installed Windows 7;
- A lot of cooling mod;
- Disabled 2 Cores and Threads Cores;
- Removed the ultrabay card;
- Underclock and Undervoltage;
- Bios Mod.
Nothing worked.
Finally, today I tried to dump my vbios and the Y510p and it bricked.
