Which bios version? you modified it starting from the stock bios or svl7's bios? What exactly did you change when you.... "cuted" it?
Also, I have one request; do you think you can mod my bios so that I can overclock cpu? I replaced the 3610QM with 3920XM. But there are only two bios options in advanced->Extended ICC->Lock Registers->Lock Static registers only / Lock All registers... There is no Disabled or any other option to remove the lock from my unlocked 3920XM cpu. I am currently using svl7's v2.07 unlocked bios.

it is lenovo bios for the people who no longer wish the modified bios. Please ask svl7 for help about CPU support!

Hello!

It looks like China display! Probably a copy of AU Optronics (according to model designation). I have to flash in 90% cases new China displays for Lenovo (brightness problem).

But I replace normal as broken displays and can first save the old firmware and then copy it to the new display chip.

It may be that you need right now for this display original Lenovo firmware from the same Lenovo screen.

I use the selfmade 40pin adapter with TL866 programmer.

But the version with the cable I would not exclude.

What is with full HD resolution? Can you change it to FullHD?

hi i dont know, i buy from laptopscreen.com, the screen is marked as "lenovo y510p series display", on laptopscreen.com they told me that is a cable issue, and probably my cable is mis-labeled, i asked on lenovo official forum and they suggest me to buy another cable and go with it. So i purchase a cable, maybe mine is a single channell, but i'm not sure about this, the cable that i found i very cheaper so i will try...

Please make a photo from the label on the screen!

So...not so good! But I can see a picture on the screen. Can you change the resolution to FullHD?

It is not necessarily the cable. If it is "NoName" China display, then it may be a wrong firmware on the EEPROM of Diplays be (series 24Cxx). This is very often at Lenovo, such as brightness is not working properly or are there problems with the colors. What is the manufacturer?

Please let me know the model of the screen!

Ok nice!

You do not need to buy the cable. I think that it will works with FullHD screen also. But I can not guarantee it.. I would bay and replacement it!

ok thank you, i'm not an expert and i'm a bit afraid to open the laptop ( expecially now: i'm working on it) so i post the result of cpu-z, maybe it can help; of course that i will open it when i will get some free time.

It is really easy to replacement a display. I need for this between 10-15 minutes!

i have this same problem
"I have same problem with wrong BIOS version, do everything like stayinthelight, but I get error:

hi, i've checked online and my number of the model (20217) and the model of mb (LENOVO VIQY0Y1) seems to be the same of the y510p with fhd resolution. In the website that you have suggested there's no my schema model. So is it possible?, i think yes but i'm not completely sure. i need help please

I think your mainboard is Compal NM-A032 VIQY1 Rev 1.0 and you need DC02001KT00 (HD + / FullHD) cable.

Remove the display and look on the original cable, if the part number is the same.

The cable is designed for HD+ and Full HD displays.

If calbe is the same, then only buy display and test it!

Unfortunately I have no scheme for this model.

What's up!
I have some trouble with update BIOS.
I try update, make DOS flash, but my laptop don't want load flash drive. I try on/off uefi, usb legacy, and other critical BIOS options. Just black screen couple seconds, and after jump to next position on boot list.
Maybe i mus change some setting in UEFI menu?

Some USB flash drives are detected as HDD in Windows. Please check if your USB stick is detected as a removable disk. Then look in the BIOS, USB Boot Device must be enabled. Then do not forget to change to Legasy support. I recommend devices with 2GB or less.

You can't access the bios chip!

You have to edit your fparts.txt

Here is a solution from svl7 for you:

If you get and 'Error 104', grab this fix and replace the original fparts file with it.

It is also possible that it does not. You must have your mainboard and description of product Lenovo model number to find out and then find the information that works or not (better laptop Schemat).

It may be your motherboard does not have all of components (not soldered) to output the image as FullHD resolution. Often depends on type of the north bridge.

Sorry my English!!!

ALWAYS BACKUP YOUR BIOS FIRST!

This Laptop has 3 bios ICs (Main 4MB, EC 2MB and KBC 128KB)!!!

If you flash clean main bios 4MB or EC 2MB on your machine, to example with programmer, you will not lose S/N, Model or other information, because all this information was duplicated in KBC ENE9012 IC with 128KB (DMI block). It is in this case ver.2.07.

You must flash then the bios under Windows again and this information will be copy from KBC to main and EC ICs.

Don’t worry, the original IC with version 2.07 hasn’t Windows key, because it was make for Windows 7.

But Attention!!!

For user with factory Windows 8 systems!!!

The Windows 8 Key is in the EC bios with 2MB and isn’t duplicated in the KBC. You will lose this information when you downgrade your bios from ver. 8.00 or 8.01 to ver. 2.07.

I need an original bios (insyde.exe) of Lenovo Y580 (QIWY4 LA-8002P REV 1A)

for Windows 8 (version 5DCN89WW(8.00), 5DCN90WW(8.01) or later).

No EXE...

Bios dumps are OK also, it would be good three of (KBC Ene 9012, U5 and U9)

Could you please help me?
