  1. Well they are completely different games with completely different mechanics extended past basic MOBA Mechanics.

I'd play both honestly, but it's the kind of game that you get heavily invested in even though really all you're gaining in a game like this is experience and not... you know... levels in WoW or something.

Dota 2 is certainly more hard to get into, the mechanics are much more in depth.

League of Legends to me seems to be a more champion mechanics type of game while Dota 2 focusses more on knowing what the heck you're doing, strategies.

For me, the best way to explain Dota 2 would be like... League of legends, but everything is multiplied by 10. You have so much control, but you have to know what you're doing with it and not... for instance, stun your entire team for 5 seconds accidentally.

Right now the reason I'm playing League of Legends is simply because of how many of my friends play it.

  2. You can actually set it to whatever you want. Although you won't notice an performance gain after you hit the refresh-rate of your monitor. It's the opposite in my opinion. You'll notice tearing (at least I do). So normally i limit my FPS too 60FPS which works out good for me.

If your PC isn't powerful enough and can't handle a constant 60fps i would go down another 10 fps until it's stable around that framerate.

This is why GSync is awesome. Stability only hurts because of the way monitors work. GSync makes 50fps feel like 60.

  3. If you have a y510p and you don't use the CD drive (assuming you're not using a SLI system) I suggest that you get a normal ssd and one of these: SilverStone TS08 9.5mm Height 2.5" SATA HDD/SSD Caddy for Laptop / 2.5" SSD/HDD Conversion Tray (White) - Newegg.com

Pop the hard drive into the caddy, and put any SSD you want into the laptop's hard drive slot.

This way you can put the hard drive anywhere you want, move it to your main pc, move it from laptop to laptop etc.
