Hi, from my experience, maybe the problem is that the cooling part is not suitable attached to the card. This may cause the card dislocate in the mxm slot. I have solved the same problem by rearrange the silicone sheet between the cooling part and the card.

Hi naightmehr,
You wouldn't think this would make much difference but try putting the laptop into hibernation, give it a few seconds and wake it up again. You might find the power throttling has gone. I've seen this a lot with m17x r4's and the 980m so the same might apply here. I've tried no end of vbios / driver combinations and never solved the problem other than using this hibernate workaround. My guess is its something between the EC and the VBIOS throttling the card, almost like its under the impression its running on a low wattage psu or something and not letting the gpu run at full power.

hope your way could solve the throttling problem with my 780m in m17xr3, which will drop to 324mhz as long as it goes to 78.C.

it seems the bios can't overclock the standard cpu like 2760 or 2860. What a pitty.

Is there any option term in the unlock bios to manage the 78 throttle issuse of video card?

thanks for sharing the vbios file, hoping this can deal with the 78c gtx780m throttling problem on m17xr3.

Maybe the "Adapter warning" setting can help me with the 780m throttling problem on my m17xr3 when gpu gets 78 degC. I will try and go back to talk about the result. Thanks in advance.
