Could anyone kindly please make a list of the BIOS settings which do not work, or which brick/fry the notebook? I've read through a few pages and seen that volting and clocking may do this to the notebook, but does shutting a couple of cores off do the same? Also, is that option even there? And, finally, does the BIOS have the option to switch to the IGPU whilst both the discrete cards are inserted? Just want to get all my lists checked and see if the modded BIOS would actually help me do any further power saving or not.

Could anyone also comment on the differences between the models sold by mydigitalssd and the ones just put on the market by transcend and adata, because there's a healthy 40 dollar difference between the two. Is the performance delta just as large as well?

Seconded, do not overclock your GPU. My notebook already overheats, and this is with stock settings. Unfortunately. What Octiceps said is correct.

Are there any other settings we should be vary of when using the new mod? I was basically thinking of using it for power management ideas, shutting off two cores, undervolting, underclocking, et cetera. How much of that stuff is possible without bricking anything?

The issue might indeed actually be with the SSD there Doug. Those Adata's have been recorded having overheating issues already. So smart move, I suppose.
