  1. you can find the vbios at NBR or i can post a download link here if the moderator are Ok

Is it the one that Ken Lee from Gentech dumped or is it a different one.

I have tried Ken's vBIOS and its OK, its just that the core speed is 771MHz.

I am after a completely stock 680m(ES) FD vBIOS.

I believe the one from ken was a dump from a retail GT70 so its OEM not ES.

If you are allowed to link to the FD vBIOS, that would be awesome and thanks for your help.

  2. Every brand of card will throttle except MSI/Clevo in single card configuration. The reason is that the single Clevo/MSI cards can utilize an ES leaked version of MSI's 680M bios that doesn't have the throttling built into the vbios. Unfortunately, this ES (FD) bios doesn't work for Dell cards nor does it work in SLI configuration for Clevo/MSI cards. So when Clevo/Dell are both in SLI configuration, both are at the mercy of throttling with the retail vbios releases.

Any Idea where one can obtain the FD vBIOS?

    Thanks

  3. Thread updated with:

    GT60 / GT70 -- based on .30M 0NE BIOS w/ 680M GTX support

    GX740 -- based on 1.0F by request

Feedback is appreciated guys. I don't have these notebooks to test with so I can't guarantee they will work or have everything unlocked. So please let me know if there are any concerns!

    Hi

I have a GT70-OND w/680m and have flashed the BIOS to that above version.

Its working well, heaps of settings, but is it fully unlocked? I do not seem to have RAM overclocking or XMP profiles etc.

I unlocked the BIOS on my old GT780DX and found it had these RAM overclocking settings.

Does this mean that you cannot adjust memory speeds and timings on GT70 (ivy bridge)??:(

Also does anyone know what all these settings do?

Would be nice to have a guide...

    I recently bought a MSI GT780DX so I would flash "MS-GT780/783(17''): .30H MSI GT783 Unlocked.zip" correct?

That is correct. Just remember that this BIOS defaults to RAID so you will wanna change that on first reboot if you don't have a RAID array present. Your machine will BSOD otherwise.

If you follow xonar's instructions you will be fine.

  4. OK I have had time to test both the MSI vbios' and they both seem fine stability wise, its just that with the V1 there were some clock speed fluctuations in games. With the V2 version however, the clock speed in games was locked to 929Mhz and stayed there for the hour that I tested it. Rock solid by the way....

Sooo I have decided to stay with the V2 but I was wondering if you could adjust the clocks a little for me that would be awesome.

I would like 900 on the core and 1100(2200) on the memory with no other changes. I thought the mem speed on these OV's was supposed to be at 2200, mine is at 1800, I still have to oc with inspector to get my 2200 mem.

Anyway if you could do that for me let me know and I will send you a donation for your efforts.

    Cheers

  5. ASIC quality is crazy I admit, I got 97.5% so not sure if that's really a good indication :P

Use the V2, I think this is the most stable - I'm using the Saltius vbios which has a slight lower voltage.

Where can one obtain the saltius unmodified version?

In fact is there anyone out there that could modify the 680m vbios for me?

I mean someone with access to all P- state clocks and voltages and hopefully memory voltages too...

If anyone is able to do this for me, I am willing to donate to them for their efforts.

    Thanks

  6. here you go , sorry it took soo long, I was asleep :P

lol wait didn't realize the the last 4 digits changed :D brb

Thanks killer. It's working now. You're the best!! What a great card, now for some vbios mods heh heh

Just out of interest the asic quality on this particular 680m is 92%. Does anyone else with a 680m have such a high asic?

This card will do 900/2200 with no voltage mods, it will be interesting to see how far I can go with the MSI modded vbios'

By the way, what is the difference in the 2 OV versions. I need to know clock rates and voltages.

    Thanks

  7. Hi Everyone

I am trying to get a Clevo GTX680m to work in my GT70-OND. The card works fine and runs in VGA mode but I cannot seem to be able to install any drivers. I keep getting the error message "This graphics driver could not find compatible graphics hardware". I am assuming its a Clevo card because I bought it from Eurocom. Do I have to flash the MSI vBIOS for it to be able to work? My machine has the latest BIOS and EC versions which are supposed to support the 680m so its weird that I cannot install the drivers. I've tried heaps of versions including ones with modded inf's and still no luck.

If anyone is able to help me it would be greatly appreciated.

    Brett
