fptw64 wont work on my system (under windows), I don't know why. Everything is ok when I boot up from usb. I tried to use ME_Port but no luck, it's seems it can't unlock read and write to ME, I got error 26 again. MESET the same.

So it seems I need to desoldering the chip.

I got "error 75: fparts.txt" file not found. The file is in its place of course.

fptw64 not recognized my flash rom. How can i get my flash rom data. I can put it in the fparts.txt file.

When do you get the error code? The chip is on this side of the motherboard so there's quite some disassembly to do

Your firmware should already have the right bits set so there will be no difference except for read and write access which allows firmware flashing/dumping.

That one in black circle is the BIOS chip if I'm right.

MESET restarted the laptop. After the restart i typed "fpt -d DUMP" (DOS) in the command line and after that i got the same error like before.

About XTU: Only the newest one is working for me. BCLK slider is working.

I can't run any older version of XTU on my laptop. Intel Extreme Tuning Utility splash screen appear on the screen and nothing happening after that. No errorm. or anything.

Thanks for your help. Unfortunately did not worked. It restarted the laptop but after that I got the same error 26 code. So it seems I need to desolder the chip. Wich chip I need to desolder. Could you show me on the pictures.

Try running the meset.exe file that I have in the first post for clevo systems. It may work on msi since both use an ami bios. If not then we have to give up unless you get an spi programmer and desolder your me fw flash rom.

Unfortunately not working. I typed in the command line MESET hit enter and nothing happened.

Error 26: The host CPU does not have read access to the target flash area. To enable read access for this operation you must modify the descriptor settings to give host access to this region.

I guess you need older version of fitc.

I don't understand. I'm even not reached that point in the process where I could use fitc.

I have a problem with fptw64.

I got this when i tried to run fpt:

error 201 cannot be run on the current platform. Please contact your vendor.

Same under DOS or Windows.

Do i need to install first the intel driver from the pack wich is in the first post then run fpt.

Oh sorry, forgot to update it saying that MSI doesn't have the lock on as well. You can read and flash whenever you want.

Also you can just link me your firmware and I'll mod it for you. I think there is an unlocked BIOS for your laptop to overclock multipliers as well.

Thank you for your offer I will send you my firmware shortly. I'm flashed an unlocked bios a while ago but i'm not sure the multipliers are unlocked in it. If not, could you unlock.

I need some help. I would like to overclock my i7 2960XM cpu wich is in a MSI GT780DX laptop. If I understood right this is possible if I follow the guide in the first post.

This bios on my msi gt60 is avesome, but when i am change graphisc card (gtx 670m to gtx 680m) i have Throttling on new card.

My temp doesnt high than 81 C on full load.

I have throttling issue on all temp, on 55 C and 83 C etc.

How to fix it?

On gtx 670m I doesnt have these issue.

Please help!

The turbo core ratio is a 2nd-gen Sandy Bridge problem. Intel introduced a bitlocker to prevent multiplier changes. You'd have to ask Unclewebb about that and see if he'd be able to do something about it. Look at me, I've got a 2920XM and I share your pain.

Power limits are through BIOS, TS can't change them. Again, a 2nd-gen Core-i problem

Sad news. I have a 2920XM too. I read Unclewebb posts and it seems he can't do anything with it. How did you get that 3.2Ghz. Could you post some screenshots about your BIOS settings.
