1. Hi all...

i am not sure if i did it correctly but it shows that the device is working properly...

it has been awhile and i took Tech Inferno Fan and Dan advice and upgraded my PC to a windows 7 64 bit os...

below shows the steps i took

just to show you guys what my TOLUD is... though im not quite sure what it is...

this is my computers intel chipset and CPU...

installing the 306.97-desktop-win8-win7-winvista-64bit-english-whql driver to my leadtek Winfast GTX 660 Hurricane II this is what i think it is called thanks to google search...

rebooted plug out the express card and put it back in after im in desktop screen.

checked device manger shows that device is working properly

However there is this code 12 problem that i believe i need to do DSDT override? beauese i didnt do it...

GPUZ v0.8.0 shows the results below with this error(?) i presume...

Please do advise me if there is anything wrong here...

thanks again to those that has helped me...

    please ignore the bad english...

ami doing anything wrong? because the framerate that i was getting during games was ard 25fps... is this due to me not doing DSDT override? although the GPU says its working fine?

  3. thank you Tech Inferno Fan!i was thinking that i missed something.so the point is to install Windows 7?right?

thanks a lot Tech Inferno Fan and dan i will be considering the upgrade to windows 7 but im not that keen on it my laptop seems to have a lot of problems when i loaded windows 7 to it the other day... i guess i will be playing around with the dsdt override first some more before actually upgrading it to window 7.

thanks a lot! appreciate the hep given! :)

please continue helping me though :tranquillity:

  4. no dsdt override this time

with one memory stick it should Works without

i think you should try both ways plug it before and after

Anyway once you make dsdt override it remains on the dsdt table!

apparently i seemed to be getting the blue screen of death with only 1 2gb ram module is it that i took out the wrong one out? is there such a thing? i tried this one " http://forum.techinferno.com/diy-e-gpu-projects/3539-guide-dsdt-override-simultaneous-igpu-dgpu-egpu.html " just now... maybe i should try the original longer way this time... how do i know if it remains?

i rechecked the file the code is still there...

  5. :Banane22:

heyy, sounds too good to be true!

if you have igpu 4500hd you can do x1.1 optimus!!!!!!!!!!!!

BUT you have to use an older driver!

ok ,pull out a ram module ,and try again

okay i will pull out 1 ram module and try the dsdt setup again.

this might be a stupid question, but when i install the driver, when it is rebooting do i have to plug the expresscard out??? cos my screen goes black if i dont do that? i saw a youtube video and he seems to plug it out when it it is restarting but another guy seems to be able to just leave it on. so i should take it out during restarting procedure right?

    once again many thanks!

  6. ok.don·t worry i have a Fujitsu siemens with the same age.

now,do you have by chance x1.setup?

i ask because in my amilopi due the high tolud i was need to do both things :dsdt override and egpu compactation on 36 bits to get my laptop working.

    .

and what dgpu it has?assume it is a nvidia 9300m gs.

and what egpu do you use?

    what is the ram amount?

with a x32 bits system 4gb ram is useless since it could manage up to 3gb.so you could try pull out a ram module see if the egpu is working.in this case dsdt override does not have sense.

if it Works with only 1 ram module (mine was working without nothinhg more to do) then you should consider upgrade ram to 4gb and insatll an Windows x64 versión,and make dsdt override and a 36 bits compactation

Sorry if i am not so explicit!

    don;t worry it will Works,finally!

unfortunately i dont have the 1.x setup...

it doesnt have any dGPU just a 4500MHD integrated graphics i suppose...

im using a GTX 660 by leadtek 2 GB...

i have 4 GB of ram installed for the computer...

    CPU Type Mobile DualCore Intel Core 2 Duo T6570, 2200 MHz (11 x 200)

    Motherboard Name Lenovo 2743RS6

    Motherboard Chipset Intel Cantiga GM45

    System Memory 3036 MB (DDR2-667 DDR2 SDRAM)

    DIMM1: Kingston 99U5295-011.A00LF 2 GB DDR2-667 DDR2 SDRAM

    DIMM3: Kingston 99U5295-011.A00LF 2 GB DDR2-667 DDR2 SDRAM

so i guess i should take out 1 of the RAM modules and try the eGPU now?

  7. ok.let me khnow if it Works.

it didnt work am did i do something wrong?

  8. ok.x1 setup is a very usefull tool for the e-gpu users.if you can buy it i recommend to do that.NOW , a egpu card in order to have a fully functionality inside a system like Windows needs to have a space memory alocated in 32bits space.if that does not hapendd(mostly because of a higher tolud)you have to use x1.setup to compact the memory OR use the alternative of making a dsdt override to extend the space memory to a 36bits ,so the egpu could be acomódate in that space.

i am trying to do the DSDT override but i came across with this error " Error: Count not access the registry path: System\CurrentControlSet\Services\ACPI\Parameters\DSDT\LENOV\TP-6A___\00000180" when i enter " asl /loadtable dsdt.aml " i dont think this is supposed to be like this right? please correct me if im wrong...

i forgot to run it on admin it now says succeded... sorry im bad at this...

  9. when you switch to internal screen, you put the prefered grapchics processor to nvidia in the nvidia control panel?

thanks for the reply. i cant seem to even have it to run in internal screen... the computer says that it seems to be working properly but it doesnt seem to actually recognise it... is it because i dont have the setup1.x and all?

  10. can anyone help me out here?

i still cant get my GTX 660 to run... the last i did and it showed that the device was working properly in the device manager but the clock and all showed " 0 ", could someone help me out here? im trying to get it to run using the internal screen much appreciated.

  11. would really appriciate help me to solve my eGPU problem... im using a 660 as you recommended to run the internal eGPU set up but i still cant get it to work i am using GEFORCER304 DRIVER which i think is the 32 bit version of the 306.97WHQL driver but i cant seem to get it to run... please tell me on how to procede on from here...

  12. im using a 660 to run the internal eGPU set up but i still cant get it to work i am using GEFORCE R304 DRIVER which i think is the 32 bit version of the 306.97WHQL driver but i cant seem to get it to run... can anyone help me oout here?

  13. Now i am using a leadtek 660... I am having " Incompatible display adapter has been disabled" and when i tried using GPU-Z it says "Intel OpenCL driver bug detected, skipping OpenCL detection. Please update your intel opencl driver to re-enable this functionality "... please advice me in regards to this matter.

  14. The NVidia 9600GS doesn't support Optimus, so no internal LCD mode or x1 pci-e compression. You could try mucking around with older drivers and get it working but you'd see better performance getting a GTS450 or newer that does support Optimus, capping it at a GTX680, the most powerful card supported by 306.97WHQL.

Tech Inferno Fan thanks for the reply, could you explain to me what is the code 43 error that i am getting with this card then?

  15. I am trying to use my nvidai 9600 GS for the eGPU setup using the laptop internal screen with GEFORCE R304 DRIVER which i think is the 32 bit version of the 306.97WHQL driver but i cant seem to get it to run... it gives me an error which says that i am using an incompatible driver although in the products specifications list it is isted there... Could someone help me out here?

  16. 306.97WHQL driver documentation has a Support Products list.

Nando4 I Found a GeForce 9600M GS lying around in my house and is there a driver for this that can support for NVIDIA OPTIMUS?

and a question that i had a few days ago Does using a graphics card with the interface for example 3.0 or 2.0 affect something in the eGPU set up?

for example the MSI N660TI PE 2GD5/OC has an interface of PCI express 3.0 whereas an asus ENGTX560 Ti DC2/2DI/2GD5 will this affect the eGPU in some way? and if were to use the 1x on the PEY4H as my laptop can go PCI-E 1.0 x1 only? In addition, can i use EC2C(Express card to the converted port adapter) in the 1x along with a PM3N(mini PCIe card to the converted port adapter) in 2x interface in the PEY4H? please tell me if im making any sense.

  18. Comparable performance can be found here. GTX560Ti, GTX660, GTX660Ti and GTX670 recommended. GTX650 not due to having quite large PCIe config space requirements making it difficult to accomodate on some platforms. The mini-ITX Asus GTX670 recommended due to it's compact sizing. Maybe compare performance scaling with cost in your market to see which is the best value money?

  19. AFAIK, a SL400 is pretty much like a T400 but without the rollcage and different dGPU. I'd think then a SL400 implementaiton would be similar to a T400 or T500. Both have previous implementations at http://forum.techinferno.com/diy-e-gpu-projects/6578-implementations-thunderbolt-expresscard-mpcie-egpus.html#post89707

Your system has a 4500MHD iGPU, so with a PE4H 2.4 can accomodate a NVidia GTS/GTX 4xx, 5xx 6xx card to provide Optimus features (x1 pcie compression and internal LCD mode). The most recent driver allowing that being NVidia 306.97WHQL as noted at http://forum.techinferno.com/diy-e-gpu-projects/6253-t500-compat-q-4500mhd-optimus-ends-306-97whql-2.html#post89243 .7 series cards are not recommended as you'd need modification of the INF files for it to work which I'd recommend against.

Could you recommend me a graphics card to go with? Im just unsure with what i should use for the set up. There is the bandwidth limitations that I have read about. I was thinking to go with a msi 560 ti Twin Frozr II or the Hawk if i could find one since it seems to me everyone was using the 560 ti. When you said i could go up to 6xx cards im just unsure now... should i go with 660 ti or higher?

thanks a lot for helping me!:nevreness:
