Doesn't your card just work, as is, already with nVidia drivers?hi all, I have a 970M GTX MXM 6GB and I would like to flash the vBIOS on the card.I have a clevo P170SM with premamod BIOS.
Is this procedure still up to date?
Thanks in advance.

Yes, but I wanted to overclock my card.
All done by the way.

Thanks for your hard work PREMA, flashed the vBIOS for my 970M GTX 6GB working great!
I had a problem at first when I installed the 361.43 drivers, which they gave me a BSOD straight away, had to install the previous one 359.06, now everything is working fine so far.
Donation done!
have you flashed this one ?
CLEVO_6GB_GTX970M-G_DM_OC_PM_v1.1.1
Nope, my laptop doesn't have G-Sync.

All my vBOS Mods come bundled with a "one-click" Windows solution and "README" instructions.
Thank you Prema for your help, as always.
Happy new year to everyone!

Merry Xmas to everyone!
Prema, I posted in the nvidia vBIOS guide thread but with no reply.
Is this method still updated if I want to flash my
970M 6GB?:

Eventually, do you recommend a specific method to flash?
I have a P170SM with premamod.
Thank you so much in advance!

Yes, but you need to mod the driver .inf. I've made a version which works without driver mods but it isn't public, yet.
Thanks Prema!
Any chance to know when we it will be released? [emoji16]

Hi, the current bios Prema supports gtx 980 in clevo P170SM ?</pre>
Yes it does, I have a 970M installed on mine.
-
That's as intended. ENJOY!
Try to set it manually with hdparm software.
The voltage options had no measurable effect during beta testing so we ditched them for the public release...

@ALL I dropped the Prema Mod BIOS for P75xZM-G and P77xZM-G in the OP.
ENJOY!
Something personal for those who followed the story:
My very dear friend, who had been suffering from cancer, has passed away a couple of days ago...
Thank you ALL for your kind words and prayers!
Condolences Prema, so sad to hear but we must stay strong, it is life..

Interesting. I do have to disable driver signature enforcement to get the drivers to install w/modded .inf in W10. I don't recall having to do this in Windows 7.
I guess this time its my turn! [emoji16]

I have a P170SM with a 970M and the v2 mod by Prema, just upgrade today with windows 10 64 bit, works perfectly!
I have noticed now that beside modding the .inf file, I dont' need anymore to boot windows with disabled signature enforcement and install the drivers through the device manager, its working perfecly just with the setup.exe, its never happened to me with windows 8...
...Just my 2 cent..

Hi Prema,I know you are superbusy.
Just wanted to know if you are still planning to release a new modded BIOS version for the P170SM model, that would allow us not to mod the .inf file.
Thank you so much for your hard work again and for allow us to use the 9xxM GTX cards on this laptop! [emoji4] [emoji106]

Hope I did it right, here's mine:

You need 4 lanes on your Display port 1.2 for 4K. Dunno if this is the case. I wonder if there are any display ports that have less than 4 lanes. And if there are, why?
In the end it is not easy. Is it still possible to return the 4K-TV(or the laptop, which would make me wonder)?
Seems after constant research that is not possible to achieve 4k@60hz on DP port without an active adapter that for now is not out in the market.
I was wondering thus..
If I keep my laptop running at 4k@30hz for movies and browsing internet and every time I'll start a game (which is set automatically to start in 1080p mode) would the resolution will be automatically changed at 1080@60hz or will be stuck at 30hz?
Is there a software who can tell you at what resolution and frequency is running the game?
-
You've probably already considered this, but could you just run at 1080p on the TV in order to get 60Hz in the mean time?
Yup, this is what I am doing right now.
But the difference in quality at 3840 x 2160 its enormous... I wanted to find out how is it possible to run at 60hz, there must be a way after spending money on the 970M GTX and a brand new 4k TV....
-
I have been trying to find a solution to this problem but seems like I can't get it sort it out..
I have istalled in my P170SM a 970M GTX with the lastest PREMAMOD, and I bought an Ultra definition TV able to reach 3840 x 2160@60hz with HDMI 2.0.
The max I can reach is 3840 x 2160@30hz because from what I understood the HDMI is soldered on the HD4600 instead of the 970M GTX, not allowing me to achieve 60hz (hate optimus at this point..).
I have tried to find online a work around for hours, and the only option for me left is to use the Displayport 1.2 this laptop has, but from what I have discovered I need an active HDMI 2.0 adapter that probably is not out yet in the market (hope will be soon..), and I am not even sure the display port is CAN help me to reach 3840 x 2160@60hz.
Now, how do I achieve this famous 3840 x 2160@60hz on my TV?? Seems like impossible so far unless I buy a TV or monitor which has a DP.
Someone has found a solution to this or tried an adapter already? I am pretty desparate..
Thanks in advance to anyone with help me with this..

Guys, please sign this petition right here to re-enable overclocking on mobile Nvidia GPUs, otherwise this crap with the 347.xx drivers will continue!
https://www.change.org/p/nvidia-re-...geforce-equipped-notebooks?recruiter=20925400
it would also be great if you could follow up on this link and take part in MySn´s survey concerning GPU overclocking in notebooks:
https://de.surveymonkey.com/s/SXRL6SQ
This could really make a difference if vendors like MySn lean on Clevo to in turn put pressure on Nvidia for unlocking overclockability again!
Done! I want to have the choice to overclock!! its MY stuff!!

Latest stock BIOS/EC are in the OP!
Latest Hotkey for P1-SMA: ftp://ftp.clevo.com.tw/P1xxSM-A/OTHERS/Hotkey.zip
Latest Hotkey for P3-SMA: ftp://ftp.clevo.com.tw/P37xSM-A/OTHERS/Hotkey.zip
Latest HotKey for P6-Sx: ftp://ftp.clevo.com.tw/P65xSE/OTHERS/Hotkey.zip
Latest HotKey for P7-ZM: ftp://ftp.clevo.com.tw/P770ZM/OTHERS/Hotkey.zip
Does this update work on the P170SM?
Thank you very much Prema.

@Lokdal yes that BIOS will return it to stock.
@ALL seeing the problems some people experience with the current unlocked Maxwell vBIOS, I decided to release this for the MXM cards after all:
- Power throttle disabled
- Over-voltage slider enabled (up to the maximum of 1.2v)
- Activated thermal slider (to keep it cooler if desired)
- Core overclock slider raise
- Thermal protection activates at 87c (at this point it'll throttle in order to protect the system)
This vBIOS uses stock clocks and voltage and also keeps the stock Turbo functionality intact unless, You decide to overclock/overvolt.
It has been tested over the past 2 months and has proven to not cause any problems on the following CLEVO P-Series systems:
P15xEM
P15xSM
P15xSM-A
P17xSM
P17xSM-A
P370EM
P3xxSM
P3xxSM-A
P570WMx
P75xZM
P77xZM
While it theoretically works for all 8GB MXM versions on systems other companies, it is known to NOT fix the throttle issue on Alienware!
Prema Mod vBIOS for CLEVO 8GB MXM version of GTX980M is now HERE in the OP!
(Use NVIDIA Inspector for OC/OV)
ENJOY!
EDIT: Will add 6GB CLEVO GTX970M MXM version later tonight

I will definitely enjoy this card . The temperature of the gpu decreased by almost 40°C compared to my "old" 8970M (58 °C now, was 98°C).
Same here.
Temperature are amazing with this card, especially compared with my old 770M.
A huge step foward.
-
I was actually going to ask you if you disabled the enforcement signature at boot.
Glad it works now, enjoy this absolute beast of a card!

hey,
today ive received my gtx 970m for my p170sm. im using your latest premamod. unfortunately, i cant install a driver, even after modding the .inf-file. maybe i did it in the wrong way. im using win 8.1 x64 and i tried to use the latest nv-driver.
i only added lines 11601 and 1152 (; NVIDIA Windows (64 bit) Display INF file ; Copyright © NVIDIA Corporation. - Pastebin.com). but im not quite sure, if that is enough or wrong.
maybe someone can help me or provide a proper mod.
thx
Can I ask you what is the "error" message you get? Or what is the main problem?
I took 3 days to make my driver work....
-
Does or will the P370SM3 support GTX 980 SLI without inf mod?
I am pretty sure Prema will send an update that will fix this, he confirmed that will be possibile with the PXXSM series.
