I havent had any issues with overheating yet while gaming although it does get hot.
I would suggest using a cooling pad while running high performance games.
The only game that has really made my y510p really hot is Crysis 3. Though it all depends on how often you play and for how long each time.

I use a cooling pad when gaming, i would suggest doing that and plugging the laptop into the charger while gaming as well, having it plugged in will increase the GPU performance tremendously.
Also try going into power options and changing the performance options for "on-battery"

Techmaniaco,
you can set the screen resolution by adding the following lines to your /Extra/org.chameleon.Boot.plist
<key>GraphicsEnabler</key>
<string>Yes</string>
<key>IntelAzulFB</key>
<string>12</string>
<key>Graphics Mode</key>
<string>1366x748x32</string>
This worked for me.
As for the brightness,
I havent figured that out quite yet either.
Please let me know when you figure it out.
Thanks

I also have this laptop and bought a Broadcom BCM4352 Azurewave AW-CE123H WiF i+ BT 867Mbps Bluetooth 4.0. Im also getting the unauthorized wireless card and need to remove the whitelist. Has anyone here been successful with that yet? I have heard about issues with the sleep functionality not working after the BIOS change. Has this been resolved yet? Thanks
