any idea how to make the laptop boot from dvd in y510p..? bios doesnt give me the options and F12 doesnt give me any option for dvd/cd either

Well, My bad experience with this laptop came in the worst kind of issues... Creating Recovery Media under Windows 8.1. Every time I followed the steps on screen and while on telephone with the tech support guys from lenovo, I encountered an error which just stopped me from finishing the creation of media. At the end I was so irritated, I decided to use a Disc Cloner, Got my old laptop's HDD on, cloned the HDD and I use that to reinstall whenever I feel I need to do some surgery on my Laptop.

Works Like a charm.

If you have the Y510P with the optical drive in the ultrabay slot, you can possibly buy this one or another compatible one to add in an extra HDD/SSD. Keep in mind that you will have to do a little work to remove the screws from your optical drive bezel and then screw the caddy onto the bezel with the HDD inside and then insert it like usual into the Ultrabay slot.
