  1. I've been fighting with Lenovo trying to get the recovery disk for my y400 as well, they expect me to PAY for them..

Sounds about right. I've not had a great experience with Lenovo's customer service when I had a dead power supply after I bought my y510p. Took over an hour for me to get transferred to the proper dept that could help me resolve the issue.

  2. I just use screen cleaner to clean the rubber surfaces. It's deionized and contains no harmful chemicals that will eat away at your rubber / plastics. Turtle wax wouldn't go well with it. It's literally a wax that will harden when it's mixed with the air. The purpose of wax is to fill in very very tiny scratches and imperfections leaving you with a very clear and shiny coat...on a car. Rubber won't react as well and you'll just be left with a mess lol

What type of screen cleaner do you use? I read once that using the slightest bit of hand soap + water wiped across the screen, followed by a dry cloth to pick up the residue works well, has in my experience anyways.

  3. This statement is true. But! It does not apply to gaming laptops. This notebook is equipped excellent cooling system that can easily handle any overclocking.

Are there any aftermarket cooling system mods easy to do for this laptop? I've been thinking about updating my current y510p.

  4. BTW, don't clone disks (old HD to new SSD/HD) I have tried from different angles and it always breaks the one touch function. You will need to use fdisk to fix the volumes and the OEM entries.

What type of errors were you getting when you tried this?
