Nice to hear it's working for you. I wish it was for me!

I have a Lenovo T530 (i5-3320M, 16GB RAM) and the EXP GDC v8 ExpressCard adapter and I can't run a 3d benchmark test without the eGPU turning off immediately. I have Setup 1.30 that performs a DSDT substitution and that works with no problems, but it seems when I run anything remotely graphically intensive it turns itself off.

I've got stability crashes on my T430 when I was changing EXpresscard-HDMI cables between V6 and V8 of EXPGDC adapter, and when a was tring to extend the lenght of this cable by adding an aditional HDMI cable. Maybe there is soemthing wrong with yours???? T530 and T430 are same architecture just size is diffrent.

  2. Ok so I would like to make some update:

Right know i'm running windows 10 External monitor due Optimus support I still cant get it work on internal BUt that is not a problem since I''m running external.

I got one Issue that Drive me CRAZY.

When my Notebook went to sleep, GPU goes to sleep too.

When I woke it up, all i can get it Dark Screen on each Internal and External Screen. I cant't say that PC is Freezed or etc, all I can do is just power off and power on again and after that everything goes back to normal, till next sleep atempt.

Sice that I've update EXPGDC from v6 to newest one V8 Beast. But i remember that same issue was on V6

Here is a photo of EXPGDC v6.0 and EXPGDC Beast.

I've notice that EXPRESSCARD to HDMI Cables are paired with adapters. When I switched cables between them (I've connect exphdmi cable from expgdc v6.0 to beast and inversely) the Graphics Card run, fan starts to spin, green light on Dell DA-2 PSU, Blue light on EXP Adapter ... BUT Card haven't been recognized any more in DEVMGR. When a switch everything back to order, Card was again successfully visible in DEVMGR. There are no visible differences between them. Just middle section of cable (flat data cord) was signed by different producer.

    Test Setup:

    Thinkpad T430

    BIOS: 2.66

    i5 3320m

    dGPU: NVS5400

    iGPU: HD4000

    WIN8.1 PRO UEFI BIOS

    EGPU:

    1 GTX 660ti MSI 192 BIT

    2 Quadro 2000 PNY 128 BIT

    forceware 347.09

Both cards are P&P setup on external monitor.

Unfortunately I haven't make it work in internal mode :(

in DEVMGR a have 3 fully working cards:

    HD 4000

    NVS 5400

    GTX 660ti/Quadro 2000

  4. Hello everyone:D

First of all I want to Thank to all egpu community for great job done over this few years.

Without You none of this could happen.

    So I think it's first T430 implementation.

    Let's start from basics:

    Setup:

    Lenovo T430

    i5 3320m 2.6Ghz

    8gb ram HyperX pnp

    Plextor M5pro 128 GB

Windows 8.1 x64 UFI BIOS GPT System partition.

    2.65 BIOS version

    IGPU: intel HD4000

    DGPU: nVidia NVS 5400m

    EGPU: MSI N660Ti (MS-V284) GTX660ti 2gb OC

    Adapter: EXPRESS CARD version of EXPGDC V6.0 + DA-2 220W power supply + own created 6PIN to 2x 6PIN Splitter Male-Male

I've tried WIN7 setup no luck error 12 TOLUD and too complicated DSDT override...i just pass it.

What i found that some one get his card to work under win8.1 with UFI BIOS GPT system partition.

I've tried to give it a shoot... and ... SUCCEED:D

    Steps:

0 make sure that in BIOS under Settings->Display you got: 1 Internal lenovo LCD / 2 Optimus / 3 OS Optimus detection

1 Whipe every Nvidia Driver with DDU and turn off pc.

2 connect you card trought expresscard port and turn you pc on. It will turn off after few sec and reboot after another few don't worry.

3 open devmng and you should see 3 GPU's: IGPU DGPU and EGPU. Last 2 will be as Default VGA adapter.

    4 install forceware Drivers (i used 344.11-desktop-win8-win7-winvista-64bit-english-whql)

5 restart after that you probably get BSOD. Don't worry.

6 turn off pc and disconnect EGPU

7 turn it on and again it will turn off after few sec and reboot after another few.

8 Now in devmng You should have propertly installed HD 4000 and NVS 5400M

9 Check if you have access to NVIDIA control panel. If yes turn off NVS 5400M (right click and turn off this device) in devmng.

10 Turn off pc. Connect EGPU to expresscard port and turn on pc.

11 Now you should have GTX 660TI hd 4000 and disabled NVS5400m in devmng. Check If you have access to NVIDIA control panel. If yes ConGRATZ you got you EGPU running 1.2OPT

    Things to remember:

GTX 660 Ti is 192 BIT card

I've tried Quadro K600 128BIT card it worked too but only on external monitor.

I haven't tried GTX 670/760 with are 256 BIT card. They probably should work too. Someone From POLAND Warsaw plz contact me if you want to check compatibility.

If You would be so kind and confirm is it good or bad :D I'm not and electronics technician, but it seems You're kind of one:)

    The middle one is MAIN

  6. I just recived My EXP GDC v6.0 from Banggood and I think it wasn't mistake because I didn't get 6pin to 6/8pin(male-male) cable too. Just ATX-cable.:(

I've wrote to them email. I will post the answer soon.

I've just got answer from banggood:

    "Dear Jakub,

We are sorry about that, this set is matching with the ATX power cable, and this cable is supply the power. We are sorry for didn't updata the message immediately. You can try about to connect it.If have any question, please contact us.

    Best regard

    Riga "

So they "FORGOT" to update info in the item description...no comment

  7. Well, I found this splitter in a Dutch shop..

    KA974-83433.jpg

I should be able to attach this to the Cooler Master 6-pin -> 6-pin. Hopefully it arrives tomorrow :P (yeah, I just ordered it, don't want to wait any longer)

I've just got an idea. Why You just cut off black male connectors i solder cables together??? you will get 6+2/6+2 male POWER PCIe. The pin places in connectors are the same, right??? Or revers??? Maybe I'm wrong??;D Correct me if necesery.

  8. Oh yeah dude, I have two of them at home. A review is coming soon when my enclosure is done!

Hi so how is your review of GDC EXP Adapter?

I found your comments in feedback section on AliExpress under a sell named hero cloud's store.

    What version did you bought???

From all the information i read there is a v6.0 right now and the seller have v5.8

In feedback there is a comment from other buyer that he get a v6.0

So the question is what he is really selling ??? v6.0 or v5.8 ???

PS sorry for spelling I'm not a good writer :D ( I.m from Poland)
