Bad product. Simply return it as dead on arrival. Weird noises often means a broken HDD. You're lucky that it happens now and not after you stored some important data on it.

Is it support Y410P all model?
I have Y410P-59369482 and want to try it. Is it compatible?
TS made a special post about the SLI version. So if you have a SLI version you download the SLI version in every other case you download the OP version.

Saw The Godfather. In a way the movie disappointed me for the number #2 movie on imdb. The plot was okey but not very spectacular, the plots where great but not amazing. I don't know I just expected a lot more of that movie.

I'm got a Y510p for my (Electrical) Engineering too. Know that if you buy one replace the Wifi-card. Very bad one. Also, the laptop has some very weak hinges compared to other laptops, vibrates a lot.

Problem I got with that M.2 42mm SSD was the controller. I decided to buy a crucial m500 and wait until the M.2's will be better.

On my university a few students always remove their battery while their laptop is plugged in. Their reason is 'it's unhealthy to charge and use the computer at the same time'. I always wonderded, how much of that is true, after all I can't imagine that their the battery management systems of laptops are not smart to power the pc directly when the battery is fully charged.
