Hey guys, first of all - many thanks to you all for putting all this information together! It's been very informative.
I have, what might be a dumb question but I'm hoping to hook up a spare GPU (gtx 470) to my work laptop (Lenovo x230 - details below).
Problem is I do have admin rights on the laptop but not complete access... I'm unable to do certain things like edit firewall/virus protection settings etc but I can install things. Also, the hard drive is encrypted.
In case that got into trouble - I suggest that you:
1) UN-instal your antivirus
2) Check if you can handle the task without antivirus program
3) Instal some Light-weigh antivirus like

wow thats a real bummer, i had wrongly ordered a dell 7970m and it didnt work due to the ec incompatiblity. so now im just deciding whether to get the rjtech's 7970m or an egpu setup. however it says not compatible with hm models, wont a bios flash solve that?
wtfs, please share your experience and what you have finally did to sole your problem with P150HM.
I am paralytically waking in your shoes right now.

I got the PSU now, is this enough to power a GTX5XX - GTX6XX card ? And if it is sufficient what converters would i need?
PSU Connectors 24 Pin, 4 Pin 12 V, SATA.
The current of 19A on +12V is quite enough in most of the cases (depends which GTX6xx you are gonna use)
You have 220 Watts in your case. ONLY GTX 690 needs more than that (300Watt)
I suggest to check here:
GTX 6xx / 7xx series overview v1.01
Also have in mind that your CPU also drains some power from the same source.
In most of the cases you will need this adapter/converter
New 6 Pin PCI E to 2 x 4 Pin Power Adapter Converter Cable 2014 | eBay
Just in case: take a look what power source your cards accepts: 1x6-pin or 2x6-pin or 1x8-pin

Hey folks. Another new member to the 780 Club. An EVGA 780 SC ACX should be arriving with me tomorrow.
I'm upgrading from an Asus HD 7950 3GB DCII and this will be my first NVIDIA card since my old XFX 7900 GT
How much did you spend for it?
What is the Max temperature that you got so far ?

I did some reading in various over-closers forums and looks like general opinion is that Arctic Cooling MX-4 is the most effective solution for the moment.
I bought it for 10 bucks from:

I had lots of problems with BT drives not supporting different profiles like( a2dp or LCD display )
Finally I found some solution:
1) Old BT module from HP notebook
2) Latest original drivers from HP site (they support everything that I imagined to connect)
3) Little hard-wiring using this info for pin-outs

Note: IF you are going to connect BT module from Notebook in Desktop - you will need also one voltage regulator from 5.0V to 3.3V

Greetings,
I'm from Bulgaria.
The Video Card in My Clevo P150HM just died and I am looking how to modify EC / BIOS / vBIOS to put newer card inhere.
I guess my best option is nVidia 680M.
I do not play games, I use AutoDesk design products only.
In case that someone have old/low-preforming card suitable for Clevo P150HM - I am open for offers.
Any better Ideas ?
