i was wondering what torx screw size i would need. still contemplating the new CPU: 4810MQ or 4910MQ.

my question is are the latest drivers for 8.1 safe to use?

i also have an AUO panel that i can spare for those testing win 10 on the AW17 R1. will send if there's a person willing to pay for the shipping.

there's a theory that alienware have left the EDID unprotected from writes and if that's true then we are owed that BIOS update.

I doubt the AW17 R1 will get a new BIOS at all.

i just flash prema's vbios 1.1.1 so far so good.

also, with the release of the AW18 with 980Ms does that mean we can now get the vbios to test?

So whats happened so far with the 353.62 drivers just trying to get an idea of this if anyone can sum it up for me?

They killing external LCD's or is it the laptop monitor itself thats being fried by them? Also what GPU's are in use on the machines that got the fried monitors? is it the older 700 and 800 series or has the GTX980's been affected as well? One other thing? Does it fry the monitor itself completely or is it just breaking something like the firmware on the monitor? Software is Kinda complicated for me C_C

I've rolled back to the earlier drivers just to be on the safe side.

Looking at getting a CPU upgrade in the future and I am not sure how to install a new CPU, is there any instructions on how to do this without damaging the CPU pins?

Ok Hidevolution accepted my RMA and they've sent out a new card.... Whole episode cost me $45 for shipping (had to pay $25 to and $20 from) but this should fix my problems... Hopefully should get by Friday... BTW @J95 any updates on this driver situation? Has NVIDIA done anything? Clearly 353.62 is screwed up killing Mr Foxs and other screens and probably killing my GPU...

OK, after reinstalling win 8 and got the updates that stupid win 10 icon showed up and i did a report and it said my 980M was not compatible due to lack of nvidia drivers (which is total BS BTW). So i decided to install win 10 and i chucked in a spare HDD and it installed as usual. installed the modded nvidia drivers and it works nicely so far.

Will have to see what mine says now that it appears.

A 980M from woodzstack was $850 Canadian dollars...before shipping. You may need to do a conversion to UK pound sterling for your equivalent amount.

Guys I have done everything... Something is weird or the card is kaput.. Have reset it quite a few times etc however God knows what the issue.. Trying to install drivers one last time then I will RMA once hide gets off their arses and sends me the info.
