I couldn't upgrade to 1434.10 cos it kept BSOD'd on something. Only a clean wipe did the trick. The 368.81 drivers installed fine with @j95's modded infs.

Getting tired of my haswell i7 Alienware 17, plus the idea of a desktop CPU and a desktop GPU was far more appealing...with g-sync no less. -

how do you mod the nvidia vulkan drivers and would it override with direct3d and opengl drivers? EDIT: never mind. i see that it is installed as of 365.19.

the 365.xx series of drivers is out and i hope it's not bad. waiting for @J95 to make the modded INFs.

Still can't boot into Windows while the GPU is set to 120Hz.

OK, I'll give it a try. EDIT: I installed the 361.91 drivers and with your instructions and it worked fine.... BUT! As soon as i set my display to 120Hz and rebooted the laptop it did the black screen again. Closing and opening the lid got the image back. So I set the panel back to 60hz and guess what no black screen. No idea why....and i think this might have been the case with the 361.82 HF drivers.

OK, i'm getting a bit tired so will try again later...still strange i can uninstall the 361.75 driver and it works.

Didn't work again....still getting a black screen on booting into win 10. closing and opening the screen fixes it.

exactly! that's why you do them. the old addage of "it's not what you know, it's who you know" still applies! EDIT: gave the 361.82 drivers a go and i got a black screen on booting into windows. went away by closing the lid. reverted back to 361.75 and no issues. not sure if it's something i screwed up with the driver mod or it has issues with prema's v2 980M vbios?!?!

thanks for the files j95! i noticed that when installing or uninstalling nvidia drivers will cause the start button to break...hmm...??!?!?

why are the 361,xx breaking with Prema's vbios mod? I can tell you right now that THERE IS NO UNLOCKED BIOS....simply because the bios for this model requires them to be digitally signed.
