  1. I can tell you now that the Intel Centrino Wireless N450 6300 works fantastically with all Debian variations (Ubuntu, Kubuntu, Mint..) using the iwlwifi driver.

    It supports 2.4/5GhZ abgn and is rated for 450 Mbps.

  2. Have you tried a full cold boot? Remove the battery and remove the AC adapter, then hold the power button for 30 seconds. Plug the AC adapter back in and hold the power button again.
